Seagate 160GB Retail Box $49.99 After MIR

Amazon has the best price on the Seagate 200GB, 7200rpm, 8mb buffer Ultra ATA hard drive for only $89.99 shipped after rebate.

Pricegrabber Price : $159~215 Shipped
Spoofee Price : $89.99 Shipped

1. Amazon Price : $139.99
2. Rebate Price : -$50.00
Final Price : $89.99

Spoofee, that's not so hot. I picked that drive up for $67 or so after rebate a couple months ago. Normally, Outpost runs sales that run one and then the other on the 160GB and 200GB drives, for $50 + ship and $60 + ship, respectively.

Thanks Erik, I will take that. I will change the hot deal to the 160gb and note the 200gb from Amazon. The 200gb was a lot cheaper than the pricegrabber's price so it was a good deal none the less.

Yeah, for people that need it immediately.

I'd be careful, I haven't heard anything about my last seagate rebate through these guys.

confirm

I got the confirmation email in 2 weeks after I submit the rebate form.

I sent in a couple at the end of September, they lost one of them and got the other. I refaxed the second one to an 800 number and they received it. Both are "scheduled for final processing", so I hope I get them both, seems good though.

Outpost.com has the Seagate ST3160023A-RK 160GB Retail Box Ultra DMA100, 8MB Buffer, 7200RPM on sale for $49.99 with a $50 MIR
Maybe you could change the deal to be $49.99 AFTER the $50 rebate. The title too, "Seagate 160GB Retail Box $49.99 +MIR" seems to me like it would be $49.99 before the rebate. I clicked the link thinking I'd get a better price than the $49.99.

Just my two cents. :hmm:

I purchased this hard drive at the end of October and immediately sent in all of the required information. Now they are saying that I didn't send a copy of my UPC, which I most certainly did.

I did not make a copy of the UPC before I sent it... Does anyone have a copy of a UPC that they can send me?

Did you copy the entire UPC? They want the entire label with the serial number and everything (see img). I'd give you mine, but then I probably wouldn't receive my rebate. Sorry man.

Yes, I cut it out of the box and sent the whole thing -- there are no bar codes left on the box.

As far as not receiving your rebate -- aren't all of the UPCs the same? If not, will you send me it after you get your rebate?

The UPC is the same, but the Serial Numbers should all be different. By the time I get my rebate, won't it be too late for you to send it in?

Will you send me a copy of the UPC without the serial number then? I'll add the serial number for my hard drive myself...

I don't mean to rub it in, but word of the wise is always copy all of your documentation.

I keep a "rebates" folder with photocopies of the forms, receipts, and UPC codes so when a rebate is denied, I can just refax my information right in. Most of my copies are two sheets. One of the form, and one of the receipt with the UPC code somewhere on that page. It's a good way to keep track of everything.

I've NEVER had any problems getting rebates. I have a copy of everything else, but I thought that since they asked for the original UPC a copy would be no good... I wish that I had a way to contact those idiots... There is no contact information for them. Just an address to resend the inforamtion that I ALREADY SENT!@!!!!!

I bought the Seagate ST3160023A-RK HD last week and promptly mailed in the rebate form with the UPC cut-out and sales receipt. I received confirmation by e-mail yesterday that my rebate request is now in final processing. I'm keeping my fingers crossed...

I also keep a rebates folder on my puter where I keep scanned copies of EVERYTHING I mailed in for rebates. You never no when it would come in handy.
