that seems like a pretty good deal, anyone know anything about these enclosures?
 
Based on the rebates, it looks like you could also purchase only the enclosure for free after-rebate? Can anyone confirm if that's the case? That would be a very good deal for those of us that already have a number of drives laying around unused...

I would think so too if I only look at this post. Read the ULTRA (mfg) rebate's T&C and you'll see "Must be purchased with a Seagate Hard Drive; model#ST3160023A-RK. Item has to appear on the same invoice."

I like seagate enclosures more than most. They look good and are cheap feeling.
 
By far the best enclosure I have ever used is the Venus DS3 with its 80mm fan.

In anycase, if the rebate only says it needs to appear on the same invoice doesn't that mean you can just return the hard drive after you sent in a copy of the invoice?
 
I bought the same enclosure/drive combo a while back (89.99 AR if I remember correctly).
The case holds now together with a nice rubber band around because it cannot stand the harddrive weight to stay close.

Another thing is that I had a hard time getting my rebates with TD.
