Seagate Barracuda 7200.11 1TB SATA Hard Drive for $79.99 Shipped

The 7200.11 1TB drives are the ones that have had a high failure rate. Seagate has been promising for months that they've fixed the issue with firmware updates and such, but the reviews have still been mixed.

Still, 1TB for $80 shipped? Good deal. Just don't store any critical data on it and make sure to do frequent backups (which everyone should be doing anyway (but no one really does)).

i didn't really have to look that much to find three sites that are sellling these drives for around 80-85.00 shipped, so this deal is not as good as you might think

I've got 3 of the WD Green 1TB drives and they have worked flawlessly. I'm sure they aren't as fast as the Black drives if you need absolute performance but the Green drives are super quiet, run with very low temps, and use very little energy. Newegg has them for $99 pretty often and I think the $20 over the buggy Seagate drive is money well spent.

The initial problem with these Seagate drives has already been resolved. You need to get your facts straight.
