I owned the top of the line Sears SUV battery and it died during the warranty period. I received a prorated price for a replacement. I only drive about 12,000 miles a year and live in the south. The prorated credit I received for the life remaining was equal to a new Costco Kirkland battery simply because the Sears batteries are double and in some cases triple the price of the discount stores. They actually may, in some cases, cost more than the dealer batteries. This is such a scam as you are buying what equates to a built in extended warranty on a battery because you are paying twice as much initially. The Costco Kirkland battery, which has a better warranty, is 50% cheaper than the Sears Die Hard battery at regular price with the same cold cranking amps. I understand not everyone is capable of installing their own batteries. If this is the case I recommend you search for an Advance Auto Parts online coupon (I got one for 40% off) and order a battery online and have it installed free when you go to the store to pick it up. I looked up a Sears’s battery for my car and it cost $153.99 and the equivalent CCA battery at Costco is $69.95. Unreal!
