I thought Jerry might appreciate this. I am going to the Mariners vs. Yankees game tonight. I knew we were going to a game but didn't even know who was playing until my husband mentioned the Yankees. I don't pay attention to baseball but I though "Hey that's Jerry's team".
Hopefully we kick butt. :boink:I hate to sit through a game when the Mariner's are getting stomped.

I trust you didn't think this thought out loud...

It would be very hard to explain JerryP, Spoofee and all.

go Ichiro!
(poor Mo Rivera looked so surprised last night)

10-1 Yankees win. Please accept my sincere condolences.

(:shhh: Hey, Mr Spoofee, I still need that tongue-in-cheek and roll-eyes smilie)

Uhh I need condolences after that game! :ack:That was just sad! I don't even follow baseball and I felt bad for the Mariners because last night they played awful. Even Ichiro couldn't save them. We left during the 8th inning. I didn't think it was worth sticking around and watching them get stomped so we could fight traffic. Oh well at least we had free tickets.

Free tickets are the best. I paid to watch the Yankee's worst inning EVER in the franchise history at the beginning of this year. - 14 runs given in one inning and finally lost 22 -4. That was painful.

what a difference a day makes
7-1 Seattle wins

please accept my sincere condolences, Jerry

Thank you.

I didn't realize they planned to let Blowba (Joba) pitch. He's become a guaranteed loser but Girardi (Team Manager) has to humor Cashman (the General Manager) for hiring him by sacrificing games to the "great gods" by letting Blowba humiliate the team and fans.

Only worse pitcher is Chien-Ming Wang. He's capable and has given away twice as many runs in a game.

Agreed. It's really odd the way they continue to coddle Chamberlain. He showed so much promise early, but doesn't seem to be developing very quickly.

On the other hand, they did real good with Sabathia. That guy has like 3 or 4 excellent pitches, so even his plan B is deadly.

Except they blew it again yesterday.
Even Pettitte seems to have to experience giving away a couple homers before "pitching great".

It would seem to me that when you are up against THE one of two teams your team usually struggles to beat you wouldn't be taking chances with "training" a pitcher or put in a guy who is fresh off the DL.
Then again you can't pitch Sabathia every game. That would be too much like the way baseball used to be played and who would ever want that?

(Once upon a time and before steroids a pitcher would have to pitch good enough to keep his pitch count down because he was expected to pitch a whole game if he was worth anything - how odd is that?)
