I have seen everywhere " WE BUY GOLD" signs. And the smart thing to do is to hold onto all of your gold. I predict that it will be worth more than the US dollar. However I was wondering if you do sell your gold what are the best places to sell to? I know that pawn shops/Cash check places are the worst places to sell to. They give you the lowest value.

I also heard really bad things about that Cash For Gold on tv.
Appreciate any feedback :)

Funny you should post this now as I had been thinking the same thing and was wondering about Cash For Gold with those envelopes you just mail back to them. So you have heard they are NOT reputable? Good to know. Any one else????

Yeah I saw on the news that customers were not getting value for there gold. They had a woman on there that had around 2000 worth of stuff and they sent her a 200.00 check, not right away. And they refuse to talk to her. They should take those commercials off. Now they have Ed McMan and MC Hammer on there as spokespersons stating they sold there stuff on there hahha

CFG is a type of scam. Don't use them.

Look around in your phone book. Most jewelers buy it.

Find out what their spread is. Just ask. Spread is the price you get Vs what you would pay to buy it back.

Find the spot price, weigh what you have, mulitply by purity, do the math to find out what it's worth.

One local guy charges me 60 cents per gr or OZ silver. Another gives 80% of the previous days spot price, but let's me buy at 90% of that.

I asked about this on a local mommy forum. One person said her mom sent her gold to Cash into Gold. They sent her a letter telling her the gold was not real. But they kept it! She was unable to contact anyone to get it back.

me want my p r e c i o u s !!! :druel:

You'd better hold on to it, it may be the only thing of value left soon

I heard it went down under $900.00 an ounce today.........

Well here is the 411 ! I went to Walter Baumans today, just to give it a test. I brought a few 18k necklaces just to see what I would get. They are doing a special. I am not sure how long the promo is but they are giving an extra 10% added to the final total they will give you. To my surprise I ended up with a 500.00 check today. Not to bad for 3 chains.

Seems like the best place to go :) This is their website http://www.walterbauman.com/

$500 sounds pretty good but how much did the bling cost you originally?

Yes. It's cuz of futures & it's just on paper. Not the physical stuff...

A lot of countries have vast amounts of it & can put it on the market anytime they want to. Yikes.
