restaurant.com will empower people to give $10 restaurant.com gift certificates through a dedicated "giving" Web site. Overall, restaurant.com will share $30 million in combined gift certificate value through the length of this initiative, or until the total amount is shared.

To send a gift, givers get to enter their name and email address, as well as a valid name and email address for each person they wish to give to—as many as three people every single day. People can share a brief story, a note of endearment or gratitude for why they are giving. The site will feature some of these messages of appreciation on the home page. People who receive a free $10 gift certificate will be given the opportunity to join in the giving effort and to Feed It Forward as well. Main program elements include:
$30 million for giving in total restaurant.com gift certificate value
$10 value restaurant.com Gift Certificates will be given away
Givers can "give" up to 3, $10 gift certificates per day

After receiving a gift certificate via email, people are taken to a page with links to each gift certificate, which offer $10 "store credit" that can be used at restaurant.com.

Q: How can I redeem my gift certificate?
A: You can redeem your $10 "store credit" in one of two ways. The first is to click on the link within the notification email you received, which will take you directly to the redemption site, or you can access the redemption site by going directly to the Feed It Forward homepage. Both options will require you to key in the redemption code specified in your notification email, which will then register a $10 credit in your restaurant.com shopping cart. You then can search through a national database of participating restaurants by state, city, zip code and cuisine. Once you select a restaurant, just use your available gift credit and print out your gift certificate instantly. When you are ready to dine at the restaurant you selected, simply present the gift certificate to your server upon arrival at the restaurant who will honor the value.

Q: How long are restaurant.com gift certificates good for?
A: There is no expiration date on the $10 "store credit" that you receive. Once the credit is redeemed, restaurant-specific gift certificates expire one (1) year from date of issue, except in California and where otherwise prohibited by law. For more information, please read the terms and conditions included with every restaurant-specific gift certificate.

this is nice and thoughtful, but, there are no restaurants anywhere nearby that are on the site...might want to go to the site and see if any are available for you in the area.

The other thing to watch out for is the terms here. They aren't traditional ones and they differ from restaurant to restaurant (if you can find any in your area). After wading through lots of $20 off of minimum $50 and $25 off minimum $100, I found a $10 off minimum $20 from a restaurant we actually go to occasionally. Even that requires a party of at least 2 and at least 2 entrees be purchased.

Also, calling these gift certificates is wrong, they are coupons. In my mind, gift certificates don't have restrictions like this. All that being said, good deals can be found here with a little hunting.

I love Restaurant.com - I have had the chance to try several new or unusual eating establishments I would not have otherwise! It will be a fun surprise for my friends and family!

It's hard to believe there are no participating restaurants in the Fargo area! It's a 100,000+ metro area! Oh well...

Argh, I'm already a member of Restaurant.com, but when I sign in to this page, it keeps telling me to enter all the info in the "new account" section...then it tells me that email already exists in their system! LOL Oh well. TY for the post!

This is really a $10 off $20 coupon, I had hoped it would be a free and clear ten bucks, but no such luck

Wow - a great find and I wish I could take advantage of the offer - it would cost us more than $10. in gas to get to the nearest restaurant. :mmph:If anyone hare can use them, just PM me w/ your addy and I'll send some to ya :teeth: Seems as though those that live in big cities will get the best use outta these :)
