Signatures

I see that some people have signatures on their profiles (for example, Scoopons has the "mink mink" signature). I see where to enable/disable display of signatures, but I don't see where to set up a signature of my own.

Where is that?

Signatures are not allowed , they once were however some users couldn't help themselves and ruined it for the rest of us

The reason that Scoopons has a signature is because she's a Moderator. Moderators, Super Moderators, and Admins are allowed to have them. As Cedar mentioned, users had were able to use sigs a while back but due to abuse from a few people they were removed. If you have any other questions please ask.

Well, not that I NEED a signature, but PugGirl's suggestion makes sense. Similar to the way our first few posts are screened, and we can't PM for a while, there could be a probationary period for signatures. On the other hand, it would add to the administrative burden.

The main user as I recall that ruined it was here for some time. It also makes it harder on us (think of the mods ) . I might be fuzzy on the memory however i believe XX amount of time wasn't an option on the forum system when this happened. We tried to have a fair way of doing the sigs with all the problems and the fairest was none.

The board also looks cleaner without them (come on you've seen those other dirty forums with annoying sigs).

As a compromise Spoofee changed it to write whatever by your avatar instead of Level 1 user or deal master.

I looked at a couple other fora I'm on which use the same vBulletin software as Spoofee -- none of them has user signatures enabled. Must be a common problem.
