Last time there was this deal, some people got already registered CD keys.
This can be resolved by following these steps.

WOW! That's quite a deal! Let's hope its true to its word. :)

I think that means no cd-key? or cd-key already used. Debating if I should get it, but heck it's only $8.49 can't hurt. But it would really stink, if the cd-key didn't work.

I'm very skeptical.

Item #:HALFLIFE2-BINR
Available Stock: 504
Price: $7.99

This is another product they sell. What is the difference??
(Or am I an idiot because I don't know what BINR means?)

Looks like a great deal and it says it comes complete. I'd rather have the dvd version though.

ITEM CONDITION:
New/Open Box: Complete, in Original Packaging with All Accessories.

 this feels suspiciously like a no-cd-key copy.

BINR = Buy It Now Ralph   :spoofee:

880 available now LOL. I looked at it a few minutes ago...881...sold one in those few minutes.

I think it may be missing the cd key also. Look at eBay. I see a lot of these "bargain" priced Half-Life games. The higher priced ones should have the keys.

Considering authentication with Steam is necessary to play HL2, the game is worthless/unplayable without a valid cd key.

aww too bad u can't buy more than just one. seems like they limit u to only one per order.

This company's B&M store is located near where I grew up in Nashville, TN. I've actually been there several times, and they sell liquidated/closeout/lot items. They've actually been in business a fairly long time, I just didn't know they'd opened a web store now.

Increase

Now it's 14.99 + shipping
I sent an email to see what the diff between this & the BINR are, and if they come with valid keys, I will post when I get a reply.

Is it true that you have to register to play even the single player mode? The reason I ask is that I don't have internet at home (I'm at my girlfriend's house right now) so I couldn't even play this game if I wanted to, could I?

Well I have to say I was skeptical too, but it was way to good a deal to pass up with out a try. Ordered same day it was posted on spoofee and got it today. (Wow that was fast!) Installed it and authenticated the cd-key with steam and all was good. Works just fine!

P.S. Yep you need an internet connection to play the game, you have to be connected to steam in order to play.

Oh yeah, forgot to mention that I was a little upset about the shipping charge. It was $7.50 and was supposed to be shipped FedEx, but they sent it USPS and only cost them $1.75.

But it's still a good deal.

Crud

Well mine was already registered

Steam has detected that your copy of Half-Life 2 Retail Standard has already been registered to another Steam user. Your product's CD-Key (the number printed on the CD case which you were asked to type in after installing the game) matches one already in our database.

oh well :(

Also received mine yesterday. Installed it, set up the steam account with the code and everything is fine!!
