(Sold Out) Nintendo Wii Console for $269.99 Shipped

Looks like supply is finally catching up to demand.

The Target near my house yesterday had 19 Wiis in stock (16 in the back and 3 on the shelf) for over two days... The Target guy told me that surprisingly Wiis haven't been moving anymore and that if anything, people are buying Mario Kart and Grand Theft Auto IV in droves this week...

Circuit City had it for $249+20 tax and free ship, but when I went to press the submit button, it then came up sold out. The CSR at Circuit city gave me the "ohh, well!!"

Actually, nintendo is now diverting more stock to the US. I read somewhere last week that the US now gets 40% of all consoles sold.

Get em while you can though because Mario Kart is raising demand and I am sure Wii Fit will raise demand as well.
 
My wife wants to preorder Wii fit...
 
a word to the wise -- don't play Mario Kart just before you have to drive somewhere (unless you've modded your car so the windshield washer button shoots koopa shells).
 
Demand is going down probably till the holidays. You can get the Wii for around retail on ebay now so no need to buy from stores. I saw a listing sell for 225 with free shipping, get them while it's cheap.
 
I'm not a reseller or anything, but glad I sold my extra copy for $350 in January. My wife and I love playing the Wii. FYI, for those still looking, nowinstock.net is a great resource.
