lmao, nah thats SAM'S CHOICE: SPEAKERS!

Missing speaker ?

Hmmm. Isn't it missing a speaker ? I count only 4 + subwoofer, should be 5... right ?
2 front + 2 back + center = 5 plus subwoofer ??? Confused.

Rear Speakers: Dimensions (WxHxD): 12 5/8” x 4 3/16” x 4 9/16”, 3.6 lbs.
Center Speaker: Dimensions (WxHxD): 7 1/8” x 4 3/16” x 4 9/16”, 1.6 lbs.

I am thinking about getting it.

so do all of the speakers run on batteries then? That would get expensive I would think

utilizing 2.4 Ghz wireless connectivity to the rear channel speaker
Beware if you're running a wireless router, as this is the same frequency used by the router. 2.4ghz cordless phones can interfere with the router's signal also.

I believe they connect a nearby AC outlet. The wireless part comes from not having to have the rear spearkers to the audio source. This free up one less cable.

Eventhough I submitted this deal, I held off on buying one for two reasons. I'm a student and my wife may not have wanted me to get it. (I just picked up a 5.1, 5 disc changer system for our bedroom off of woot.com.) The second reason was because of this 2.4 GHz channel. I ended up getting it anyway, (my wife reminded me it serves as a good anniversary present... I love my wife!) Anyway, I'm hoping I can switch the channel the system comes on, otherwise I will have to modify the router. (I've changed it anyway, I just don't really want to change it again.)

Don't be fooled and definitely do not use wattage as a guide for deciding between speakers. the power consumption has nothing to do with the quality. The drivers could be so inefficient that they need a lot of wattage to put out what expensive speakers could do in less. It's like sending current through a rusted nail versus a gold cable. Also, 500w is peak power, which the amplifier that level for microseconds at a time. I wouldn't be surprised if the real output is less than 50 watts for the entire system.

I just got an e-mail from Buy.com saying it was shipped.

eBay, here I come. ;)

Please be aware that ONLY the REAR Speakers are WIRELESS and this unit CANNOT be connected directly to a TV.

How can it not be connected directly to a TV if it is a DVD player? Could you elaborate please spoofeeguy?

I should have made it more clear...Sorry.

If you are planning to watch TV movies (not DVD movies) with the Sylvania Surround System, it is NOT possible. You have the Surround System effect only while watching DVD's.

Also please note that this system does not have many good reviews. Check for reviews in Amazon.
