(Sold Out) Trendnet 5-port Gigabit Switch for $14.99 Shipped After Rebate

IMHO it's better to wait for a deal on the 8 port d-link (DGS-2208) ... extra 3 ports comes in handy and it does QoS on your network (802.1p) which is good for VoIP, whereas the TrendNet doesn't. I haven't seen a deal on those (e.g.I think I paid ~$25) in awhile.

The DGS-2208 has been reported by many to not work well on mixed networks, defaulting to the slower speed. This is a deal-breaker for me and should not be the case.

I have this Trendnet router and can confirm that it works well in a mixed environment, still giving me gigabit speeds between my Gbit devices despite a printer and older computers with 100 MBit adapters.

Having 8 ports is certainly better. I initially had a Netgear GS108 which was great until it failed.
