*Sold Out* XM Roady for $39.98 plus shipping . ends 3/7/05

Just so people know, XM is raising their rates fro $9.95/month to $12.95/month effective 4/1/05

Still, I think this is a terrible business move for them. I read about this a few days ago. If you have a choice between XM and Sirius for the same price per month, who are you going to choose? Sirius has signed deals with the NFL, NPR, and soon Howard Stern, while XM signed with MLB. Who would you choose for the same rate per month? The only advantage XM had was price if you only wanted to listen to music, now there's no competition. Sirius was always the better service, but it came at a premium price. Now, the only people who are going to go XM are baseball fans.

To XM's credit, they do have Opie and Anthony, but in my opinion, I'd rather have Howard Stern. Also, XM's new rate includes the premium channels which used to be a couple bucks a piece in addition to the plan.

No so True

XM is raising the price but like most company they are also looking to improve there business relationship with it customers and other companys. True that XM don not provide you NFL, NPR, and Howard Stern... But if you read the stock report you will see that Sirius is trying to merge with XM. I spend plenty of time on and with XM to know that they are and will always be the #1 satellite radio service provider.

You are certainly entitled to your opinion, but no one can say who will 'always' be the #1 provider.

I wonder how many people in the 60's thought AMC was and would always be the best automobile manufacturer...
