Not sure if this is of any interest to you or the gang on Spoofee...but, every year, there is the wreath laying on the tombs at the various veteran cemeteries here in the States. You can click your state to see where and when they are doing the ceremony. I think that most of them are scheduled for December 12, 2009, which is a Saturday....just a thought that could be passed on as a way of honoring our heroes.
If you can't make the wreath laying, there is "Operation Christmas Tree" getting ready to close on December 01. For twenty five dollars (or even less, your decision) this group sends a two foot tall tree, some lights, and, decorations over to a soldier deployed from home. Just spoke to Jim Ward this afternoon, and, they are sending out the first shipment. They worked like dogs all day yesterday. I think they are "down" by almost three hundred trees this year. A sign of the economy. Here's the link should you give it any consideration.
