These Sony headphones are junk!
Sound-isolating headphones are great in general - they keep outside noise out and pump in only your music. You can listen at a much lower volume since you don't have to compensate/overcome the outside noise as with regular headphones. I think in the long run, they'll save your eardrums. That said, Sony headphones of late are complete JUNK - I had a pair for less than 6 months before the chord started to fall apart on me. The plastic cover started to get all sticky, soft and gooey on me and before I knew it, I had EXPOSED wires. The plastic cover just sloughed off. WTF??? I recall seeing that in a few comments on Amazon... do your own research. Save your time and money and purchase another brand!
