DOes the 40 giplay ps2 games ?
also how is the blu ray ? Does it look nice on screen ?
 
40 gb does NOT play ps2 games, it is not backwards compatiable. It doesnt bother me at all since when u see ps3 games there is no need to play the old ps2 games. Blu Ray loks real nice! If anything it also upconverts ur normal dvds to look real nice as well. If I didnt have the ps3 yet, I would jump on it. It basically comes with a fre extra controller. If you can wait, the Meatl Gear Solid packgage is going to be on sale in a couple of months.
 
Sony, make your next model release backwards compatible! Don't take that away! I would love to see the emotion chip come back - I will gladly pay the $50 premium for that.

Why do I want backwards compatability? Because our PS2 died, and we have a lot of games, and I don't want to scrap them or buy a PS2 when I'm waiting for the new PS3 package.

Why would others want backwards compatability? Space! I can't tell you how valuable my space is - and I'm sure plenty of others would just assume put their PS2 in another room, or another house, and be able to keep their most valuable PS2 titles on hand to play on their PS3 until a sequel appears on the new PlayStation.
 
well the the 5 Blueray disc offer is off. and this is not backward compatible.
I think just so so deal. Compares to Xbox, I would get PS3 for the hardware advantage. But for games and live(online gaming), Xbox definitely better
