The Electronic Entertainment Expo(e3) is ending and now is a great time to review. The Sony Playstation 3 has announced that it is going to be around $600, while the Xbox 360 has some new games. But the Star of the show was The Nintendo Wii( which is my avatar). Its new way to play games is awsome and the games look great. The newest game for it that everyone is going to get is Super Smash Bros: Brawl. All the games for it is going to use the movable feature in the controls. Any opinions on the E3 expo. Any other infomation would be great also.

I believe Gamespot said the Nintendo Wii would be out near the end of this year and that it would be around $200. :D

It will go down eventually, whether it be during or after the console's life. I get most of my consoles for around $5 at thrift stores. (Waiting for a cheap Xbox now! ;) )

It's really not that bad of a price, while it definitely isn't cheap...it's nothing compared to what the 3DO or Laseractive started out at.

I think I will wait and see what games come out (particularly imports, since I generally prefer them) for the new consoles before I see if there's anything worth getting new.

Sony said it would be about $600, but this magazine states that the parts to make it cost $800. I bet they just want people to save money so when sony raises the price, people will scramble to find the money to get it because they are close.

The price won't be raised. A lot of consoles are sold in this manner - the extra costs are made up for by extras.

Yeahhhh, those two systems weren't exactly what I'd call "popular" though. Although I'm sure it'll sell well (kinda hard not to with the Playstation name), $600 is still a large chunk of change. When I was a kid an SNES or Genesis was something you could actually see yourself saving up for, not really the case with the PS3. I'm sure the hardware is amazing technically and worth the price...but it's still just a game console.

I just bought a Gamecube and I'll definately be grabbing myself a Wii when it's released (w/ Warioware and Tennis!! :D). The Wii is for me! (man that was so lame)

Exactly - the Playstation reputation is why it will (or at least, should) be able to last on the market, unlike the others I mentioned above (I own the 3DO so far, though still after a Laseractive. I let a secondhand one slip through the cracks once, I'm kicking myself!). Sure, $600 is a lot - but after a while, depending on how long you want to wait, the price will go down, both during and after the console's lifetime (particularly the latter)- after all, it is just a game console.

I'll probably get a Gamecube at some point (I collect consoles...). They're already reasonably cheap at pawn shops, haven't seen any in thrift stores yet, but I don't imagine it will be too much longer (next year, maybe?). It looks like a cool platform, just not my first choice as far as what's currently available new. I really don't know what to think of Wii yet, though I am curious about it.

I was rock solid on buying a PS3.. but the Wii blew me away. I want to buy a Wii.. all their interactive games look so cool and fun!

My thoughts exactly I was hooked on the PS3 because of the Metel Gear Solid 4 trailer. Then after watching the conference of Wii at e3. I was blown away. I can wait to get my hands on the Wii and smash bro's.
