Sprint palmOne Treo 650 for Free with 2 Year Activation

Rude Customer Service

Just as a warning:

I called them, asking about the promotion. Once the customer service person (Jason) found out that my plan had not expired, he cut off all my questions with, "You can't be helped," or "I can only talk to people who don't have plans yet," and even hung up on me in the middle of my question.

So...be prepared that the only thing they want is your money...=P

This is fishy

This is not from Sprint PCS and they know nothing about this promotion. Spring refused to confirm if this is a legitimate dealer or not. I don't believe this is for real. Anyone who ordered and got the deal please post it here. Thanks.

i heard about the treo for free on the radio this morning, so this has got to be legit

Seems Legit

I just called to see what the deal is. They are still available but reiterated that it is for NEW customers only (that excludes additional lines being added to existing Sprint customers), but seemed legit nonetheless.

I would so love to get this... the Treo isn't perfect... but for free it is just about as close as it gets... I just don't know if I'm this impulsive...

Although looking though their plans... I don't see anything on there for the data packages... only voice... anyone know the scoop on that?

This looks like a scam. I called Sprint and they never heard of pcspromotions.com. The site WHOIS is registered by godaddy.com on Sept, 2005. Do the math, this is fishy.

Problem is, I filled out all the info/fields which included SSN and credit card. DAMNIT. I thought you guys screened these deals?! Now I have have to recall my credit card info. :thumbs_do

It seems that they charge you close to full price for the phone ($399!!!) and you get a credit on your next bill. Since this isn't Sprint you're buying from, just some reseller, I would be very cautious about this. If Sprint doesn't give you the credit what recourse do you have? Can you return it to the reseller and get your money back?

Buyer beware.

hey, we're human- not like we all pay big :money: to get deals from spoofee, and DESERVE nothing but perfection :p
besides, this could be legit. just cuz you're nervous doesn't make it a bad deal.

Seems legit..

I'm hoping this is legit, because I game them my SSN. I actually got the PPC-6700 for $80 deal.

The web page didn't work, so I called the phone number and they allowed me to add the phone onto my existing account. The girl later called back because she forgot to get the shipping address. I guess I'll find out whether it's real.

It's a pretty elaborate hoax if it is one. They've got links to Hacker Safe, etc. on the front page and are listed as authenticated on the ScanAlert site. They've also got a well designed site with phone numbers and addresses, etc.

It does seem a bit too good to be true though.

i hope it isn't a scam... looked pretty legit though... plus I've half the deal out there for comcast and such aren't actually through Comcast itself, but a third party... but it wasn't until I went through the whole thing that I realized that I couldn't carry over my current Cell number... I'm going to call them later on this one... cause that will be a pain.

I have an old phone for Verizon. I am out of contract and looking for a new phone that is $100 which will be free AR from them if I sign up with a new contract. Anyone know of a camera phone that they sell that's a good one? They have so many I don't know what to select.

Free is amazing, I bought the treo last month on VZW for 399 and absolutely love it. If you want a treo they have a $100 on palm if you buy it from them (allthough Im trying to get them to give me the rebate since i bought it from vzw and well see)

Also in feb the treo 700w running windows is coming out which should be cool, not sure about the sprint or gsm models but the treo is great and yah it feezes sometimes but so do all other phones ive had, only thing is that everything costs money now morals aside im not paying $25.00 for an application that will let me use a mp3 as my ringtone after paying 400 bucks for a phone so be prepared to pay more for appz, not have things you should have (or would have with a much cheaper phone) or be preped to go against morals and be forced to find stuff online and then find serial numbers allthough i would never do that...

i'm pretty sure that the windows based 700 comming out is driving the deals on the 650... there are alot of pro's and con's to them both... what for what I'll end up using it for... i'm not worried.

I have the Treo 600 and have had several problems with it but still like it. The 600 had a bad speaker in the begining when it 1st came out and it will freeze at times.

As for Sprint!!! I have had the WORST SERVICE EVER! :thumbs_do I have had them for 7 years and these last 2 are unbelievable. Their customer service, store sales people and communication on policies have really gone down hill! :( If you want to hear the entire story it will take me awhile to type, its long and horrible! My contract is up in Jan and I think I'm going to switch companys; but not sure shich one?? I was thinking Cingular or T-mobile??
I would love to up-grade to the new Treo 650 or maybe the Razor??
Any suggestions on which provider and who has the best deal on a FAR phone or 650 Deal???

i've heard alot of mixed reviews about Sprint around here... but I have nextel now... which is essentially sprint now anyways.. or soon to be.

If I had a choice I would go with Verizon... seems to be the best all around... from the stories i've heard.... sorry I don't know anything about deals though.

Reponse

Just a few notes:

The Treo 650 is everything the 600 should have been plus some. Right now I'm using it as a bluetooth modem for my laptop. I've had ZERO problems with the phone, and have had it for a year now.

Also, I called Sprint to find out about that free Treo since I wanted to replace another older one on my plan. They did confirm that they were a registered/legitimate dealer, but that the deal only takes place through them. It might seem fishy, but it's real. I just wish it was direct and that I could get a deal one one. :(

Got my Treo yesterday, transfer my number over last night, so far so good!

It's been an unproductive day at work today...
