Square Trade Warranty, Is it worth it?

Hey everyone,

Has anyone ever use the Square Trade warranty extension that some sellers use on ebay? I just bought a new item and I was thinking about using it. It's an extra 40 and provides an extra 2 years on top of the manufactures 1 year. Any comments?

Really it depends on the item you are purchasing. If the item is less than $150, then the extra $40 seems excessive. I probably would go for it if (1) the item is a new technology that really hasn't been proven and (2) the item is over $400.

Looks like Square Trade is a BBB Member too.

It's a $350 GPSr... it comes with a year warranty and it's a nice outdoor model. I know several people that have them and they work great with few problems....
