Is anyone going to dare to go to Star Wars III on opening night? How long do you think I would have to stand in line if I did? Would I have to put cinnamon buns on the side of my head to try to fit in? Maybe I should bring a JarJar Binks doll (is that how you spell it??).

Anyone ever done such a thing? Let me know, I am curious... :)

How insane. Last week I heard people were camping out already.

The closest thing I've ever done is to line up at 3am for a Furby like 6~7 years ago.

I went opening night for the past two movies. There were a few freaks in costumes but mostly normal people. When I say, normal, that refers to their dress, the general distribution tends to be geekier than normal.

If you are planning on going, you should probably have tickets already. Most theaters are already sold out. You should also plan on showing up at least an hour or two early. We generally drove past the theater around 9 to size up the line, then went to eat/drink. If the line was long we would grab fast food and a six pack and go back to the line. If the line was short, we would take our time at a sit down place and hang out at a bar for a little bit. Alcohol makes the people in the costumes more barable, but it also makes it more difficult to stay awake in dark theater.

As for me, this year Im going to wait. Some coworkers want to skip out of work for a few hours and go see the first morning showing. Cheaper tix and less crowds are worth the additional 10 hour wait.

I did something like that for beanie babies once. What a waste of time and money!

This is not a bad idea. I could possibly do the morning thing.

I bought my tix for the midnight show about 2 weeks ago.
I'll get in line about 8 that evening. We don't get lines here til later.

My local movie theater is selling them online, so no waiting in line ;)

No waiting in line for tix, but for the good seats is a different matter. Who wants to be looking straight up for 2.25 hours.

I went to opening night of the original "Star Wars" at the midnight showing with my brother (FYI I wasn't even a teenager at the time) and I don't think I've seen a "Star Wars" movie since. :o

I'm ready to be pelted with rocks and garbage. ;)

I might go see SW3 in the theater. After seeing the 1st two I'm not all that inthused about seeing it...

I've never seen Star Wars. :D

Same here. Well.. I think I watched it when I was a baby. I have an image of

in my memory. As for story line, I have no idea. Maybe I should go rent the DVDs.

aww.. that baby is still cute. But in a special way..

I'm the type of person that likes the first three Star Wars films (or should I say episodes IV, V, and VI). I didn't really like episode I or II, but I am looking forward to III. I am not, however, going to go to the theatre as soon as it opens. I'll probably wait a few months...no big hurry.

i will be going on friday afternoon as a field trip with my sons class
(we set it up so well be the only ones!!)

I think i'm just going to download it....the wait at theathers would probably be really bad for at least a week and a half in my area......plus, what pisses me off is that there's been so many previews and different commericals for this movie showing different scenes ripped off of the movie to the point where I pretty much know the sequence and what will go on as far as the story line in the episode 3......i mean, yeah, we all know he's going to turn into darth vader, but still.......it just ruins it.........stupid commercials........ruins any feeling of awe or surprise. :thumbs_do

I played the game before the film came out. The game is pretty short, about 4 hours, but has lots of real film strips in it.
