Not to be a grump, but do we really need 15 people posting "Thanks (Postername)!" for every deal (especially the crappy freebees). Talk about post inflation... :sus:

I've left a message for the other moderators and Spoofee about this issue to have them weigh in as well.

For me sometimes I don't get on Spoofee for quite some time, and it is good to see a post bumped to the top.

plus, if someone is saying "thanks", then at least we know the deal is still good. but i know what you mean ksocia, it's not necessary for everyone to do it

I'm with Clubby, it keeps the deal 'fresh'/active/bumped and if you happen to be the thread maker....it's nice to know that you efforts are appreciated too. ;)

"Bumping" it does not mean posting a 'Thanks' a couple hours after the original post. I'm not going to name anyone, but it looked like someone just went down the list of deals posting "thanks", the recent post list by that person had something like 10 "thanks" posts in a matter of minutes...

I third that! It helps build a community when we're nice to each other. :)

(Please disregard my hypocritical avatar in connection with this post... I should change that. I was really grumpy that day...)

Plus... when somebody replies that they have gotten the freebie... I can take note of if they were "in front of me" or "after me" if I haven't gotten mine yet...

Does scrolling through 10+ posts of "fluff" to get to the original deal link/coupon/etc build community or just carpal tunnel syndrome? Isn't that what the off topic discussion/chats are for? Even a simple PM to a good poster saying "hey, thanks for all the deals, I saved on X and X and X thanks to you!" would be more personal and take more effort than to just quick-reply down the deal list with a "thanks" whether you used it or not.

Once we start chatting up "thanks" storm on every deal we sink closer to a FW-like site of walking "thank you" zombies where everyone has a 2000+ post count of fluff.

I'm not counting the "Hey, this came in yesterday!" posts, I'm talking about the ones that say "thanks" in the middle of 5 other "thanks", all done on the same day.

I can see i'm outnumbered so i'll retreat and build my evil no-thank-you army behind the fiery gates of mordor.

LOL Love it!

That's ok ksocia! You're entitled to your opinion and to express it! Except we're a vocal group and others will do the same. ;)

 So sorry..I just like everyone to know that I appreciate all the things I get for free. Thanks everyone. :claps:

ksocia, as far as the inflated post counts of fluff, i don't even look to see how many times someone has posted. we all know who's posting good stuff and who isn't- and there's no reason to put any weight into the number of posts a person has. join date, as well as being an active member of both the deal discussion as well as off-topic discussion ought to be enough of a indicator as to who is or isn't a contributing member of spoofee. i know you and your crazy feline are important here :)

I was brought up to say "please" and "thank you"...so I'm gonna just keep on keepin on  :D LOL

I don't think it's too bad of an issue since it's also a sign that the deal works. Let me see if I can come up with a solution for this, this weekend. Thanks Ksocia!

I was brought up to say Please & Thank You. So when someone post a good freebie, I thank them for it. It's just respectful. I don't really care if it bounces my posts up or not, it's the thought behind it.

I like when people thank me for a freebie or hot deal. I think its good feedback for whether or not people like the freebie and if they are sending for it or not. Plus it bumps it to the top so more people see it.

Plus I think it is nice to see feedback from those who appreciate the posts.
