and you are supposed to be saving $23.98
 
WOW - I thought I was bad at math!
 
They obviously simply transposed the MSRP and the sale price figures.

29.99 plus 23.98 does equal 53.97.
 
ahhhh, but see, it's in parentheses... this indicates a negative dollar amount... so you're actually saving -$23.98

I don't think so. It would be a very odd M who S's an RP ending in 97 cents. That ending is more of a discounter's hallmark. M's usally end their SRP in 99 cents or else even dollars.
