Complaint:
On Thursday, February 5th, 2004, I called Wheel Guyz to inquire about a set of wheels advertised on their website. BSA Alloy Wheels 259 Special, Advertised at $549 for a wheel and tire package. I inquired to Marcus, the sales manager what the price would be on just the wheels alone. He quoted me $370 dollars for just the wheels alone. I then asked if the free shipping deal was valid on wheels alone, and he said that they were. I went ahead and ordered the wheels, at which point he asked me if I would like to pay extra for locking lug nuts. I didn't need the lug nuts, as I already had them. The order was completed and all was well.
That was the AGREED PRICE. I had my friend with me who gave me the money for the wheels. After hanging up the phone with Marcus on February 5th, 2004, the total that I had (VERBALLY ONLY) was 370, which I requested from my friend.
On Friday, February 6th, 2004, I checked my bank account and noticed that Wheel Guyz had only taken $50 dollars out.
Following is my bank account statement, which shows the same:
02/06/2004 WHEEL GUYZ INC 786-4280491 $ -50.00 $ 792.32 $ 0.00
FLUS 31323
I was then unable to get ahold of Wheel Guyz Accounting department until this (Monday) morning, February the 9th, of 2004. When I was finally able to "clear things up" I check my account minutes later and Five hundred some-odd dollars were missing.
90 FREE CHECKING $ 702.89 $ 93.91
I then proceeded to call Wheel Guyz back multiple times to confirm my order. When I was finally able to get back on with Marcus, the sales manager. He tells me that he "KNOWS FOR A FACT" that I ordered the full wheel and tire package, and that is what I was being charged for. When I asked him if I could then cancel the order (which was just finally placed minutes ago), he then proceeded to tell me that there was a 20% restock fee. A RESTOCK FEE ON WHEELS THAT COULD NOT EVEN HAVE BEEN MOVED IN THE 3 MINUTES I HAD GIVEN THEM
Then after argueing with Marcus about the price on
Desired Settlement: Refund
Settlement Explanation:
ALL I WANT IS:
The wheels at the quoted price, $370 dollars, shipped FREE to my door, as stated. NO EXTRA fees for lugnuts, as I did NOT ask for them. $370 dollars TOTAL. Any Amount of money, that was withdrawn from my account in EXCESS of $370 dollars by Wheel Guyz should be refunded.
