Survey: Do you try to win radio contests?

I've won a few things on the radio like concert tickets, free lunches, free 12 pk of Berries 'N Cream Dr. Pepper, flowers, etc. I don't listen all day for those type of things, but when I'm listening to the radio and a call in happens, I usually try.
 
I have signed up for KOST rewards but someone told me they only send the stuff to California, I get the reward songs from another forum. I have never gotton anything. My kids have won CD's from our local radio station.
 
at christmas time we have a local station that plays the call in when a certain song of the day is played and guess the correct amount of cash type of contest(it's usualy a few hundred to a couple of thousand) that's the ONLY time I ever try.I got thru ONCE and it was when I of course didn't know the correct amount because it had just started a new one.:(
 
I was on the radio once.......they were asking "if you could date three celebs, who would it be" I of course said Jeremy Piven. Well someone in the family heard it and razzed me forever about it. They said I sounded all girly and dorky.......so no I don't go for contests on the radio anymore.
 
A few years back, I won $1,000 from our local radio station :D
 
Being deaf, no I don't play. I wonder what would happen if I went to the office & made them let me play?

One of the stations a few years back were giving away a free pizza dinner for caller number three. I called in as soon as I heard the contest and the guy announced, "You are caller number one. Sorry." I hung up my cell and redialed. "You are caller number two. Sorry." I thought I had the worst luck of the world until I called back and heard, "You are caller number three! Congratulations!"

It must have been a very slow day for that radio station or I just happened to hit it at the right time.

I've also won CD's and cash from the radio before too. Now I don't have the time to call in like I used to.

I was referring to Spoofee. I did have to split the money with a girl since she and I did the answers together, plus had to pay the government.
 
I've won a set of movie tickets, a few cd's and a trip to a Nascar race. The race consisted of the tickets, a bus ride there and back and food. We didn't have to spend a dime.
Pretty good deal and a fun trip, although I don't watch Nascar.
 
I win concert tickets all the time. One of our college stations is progressive and listener funded. They play everything. Throughout the day the DJ will announce "Ive got tickets to give away to 'this', 'this', and 'this'. Be the first caller after teh music starts to win." So I call and usually I win. I figure even if I go and dont like it, it was free, so why not go, spend $5 on beer and have a cheap night out.

Sorry, short answer.. Yep.
 
I won a $1000 dollars a few years back from a local radio station. I had signed up for the Loyal Listener's Club and someone called me and said "they just said your name on the radio". Well you had five minutes to call back so I did and I won.
The cool thing is I didn't even know this person, but they said they had won this contest when someone did the same for them so they were just passing it on!:bigok:
It wasn't even a station I ever really listened to!

I hope your name was in the phone book and it wasn't just a stalker. Either way, what percentage did you give the caller? ;)
 
I didn't give them anything! I was in shock and just hung up the phone without getting there name. I would have at least sent them a thank you card or something if I would have known and to tell you the truth I was wondering if it was a prank call until I actually won.
Thank God we didn't have caller ID back then or I probably wouldn't have picked up the phone!:confused:
 
my brother in law wins concert tix all the time! the ones i was most jealous of was front row depeche mode tickets a few years back
 
I've won CD's a few times, and some tickets once. Every so often I'll try...
