A good value

This switch is a good value, but it is not the be-all, end-all of switches.

It is not managed, so no VLANs are possible. :confused:

Over at Newegg some reviewers complain about noise, most don't - I suspect the switch is somewhere between quiet and noticible (as one reviewer said, this isn't for your nightstand). :ohwell:

It supports 16K Jumbo Frames. :yesnod:

It comes with a lifetime warranty (few other switches in this price range do). :yesnod:

And speaking of price, it is about $7/port before any local taxes (if any, I'm in NJ, so I pay taxes - but on the upside, groundshipping will get it to me overnight). :teeth:

The rebate is good for two of this model - I ordered two to avoid kicking myself when I want another in a month. :)

The rebate comes as debit card, and you fill out the rebate at an on-line site (the Newegg link to the rebate form mentions the website in tiny type about 2/3rds of the way down the page). :ohwell:

I've used the 10/100 version of this switch for about 4 years without incident, I think this will help speed things up around the casa. :clap:
