Syntax Olevia 332H 32" LCD Monitor fro $539.99 Shipped

A word to those concerning the negative reviews due to a lack of a tuner on this HDTV (or any for that matter). Think about it - how many of you are using the tuner in your current TV other than to tune to channel 3 for your cable box. Unless you're still receiving air broadcasts, a lack of tuner is irrelevant. Your cable or satellite company provides a receiver box for among other things, HDTV reception. You can connect any TV without the box for analog reception, but then why buy an HDTV set?

Sorry, just an observation from similar postings.

A valid point, but if others are like me, you can get 8 HDTV channels Over the Air (OTA), yes... 8 ! Also, my satellite subscription does not include HDTV, so a tuner is high in my list.

I don't know much about this but couldn't you just use your vcr to tune the channels? or does that affect the HD?

I am so old fashened I still have a vcr...lol

32-inches is too small for HDTV. At that size you will not notice much difference in picture quality. I would recommend a 42-inch HDTV as the minimum size to get.

The TV not having onboard OTA (Over The Air) tuners is not critical. Most people still get thier signals from cable or satellite service and have forgotten about the big ugly antennas needed for OTA. The govenment (the FCC) has forced the broadcasters and TV manufacturers to be 100 percent "digital" by 2009. It has been my experience, at least with the local broadcasters in my area, that they still do not care about the reliability of the OTA signal that they put out. For instance they could have a low power situation at the transmitter that would go for weeks before they get enough complaints to fix it. Until 2009 rolls around they just don't care.

The one with the Tuners is also on Sale for $750 - 10% runs it about $675.
