The age ole newspaper...do you still read one? Is it a daily ritual for you or just on Sunday? Do you have a favorite newspaper?

Admittedly, I seem to do a lot of reading online now days, or more news magazines like "The Week" and grab a paper on Sundays. A favorite of mine is the Washington Post, and, The Sunday Sun. I remember my Dad use to grab the paper on Sunday with his breakfast and coffee and we didn't hear a peep out of him for hours! :) A few couples that I know, grab the Sunday paper to read in bed with their breakfast in the morning.

read in bed with breakfast? what's that??? oh yeah, before kids it was possible LOL

we used to subscribe, but 99% of the time it ended up in the garbage without ever being opened. so we stopped subscribing. however, we occasionally pick one up... for example, the day after father's day, there was an article printed in which they'd interviewed me, hubby, and kids. so of course we picked up a couple copies....

I couldn't agree with you more! Ever see those tv commercials where the really good looking guy with his silk pj's and the gorgeous gal with her size two nightie are in the bedroom and the window curtains are blowing out the window, the sun is shining in, the sterling silver coffee set is by the bed, and the paper is sprawled out and they are reading it together?!?! No babies in sight! LOL I have found myself talking to the tv saying "Just wait until you have your first child, who gets an earache on Saturday night and vomits all night! Let's see if you both look THAT GOOD at eight in the morning!"

With living on the Island, I read the papers that are more local, and, other magazines for State or International news. Then they are used for Jeb Stuart's "wee wee area!" :)

I read the Orlando Sentinal every day.I have to have my news and need to know whats going on and around my neighborhood.

I was a subscriber for many years, but mine would end up in the trash too w/o being opened. I didn't have the time to read the paper.

i pick one up on sundays. i like to look at the sale ads and skim over the interesting articles

I always read the NY Times.......but when moving to Staten Island the Staten Island Advance is the one that really addresses local happenings and issues (and national too) and the NY Times does not give Sunday flyers & coupons here (how odd  ). I had both for a while but I did stop the Times because it was difficult to read 2 papers every day. I do miss the NY Times, great newspaper. BTW The Advance is very decent too, it's just 2nd place....:second:

;)

I live a few miles south of Nashville in a small, slightly rural town, so I do still read my local city paper (which is usually one section long  ) as well as The Tennessean to keep up with Nashville and other surrounding areas. I prefer to have them in hard copy rather than reading them on the internet.

I read my local newspaper every day. I read everything--front to back. Have to know what is going on!!

Well, I prefer reading the newspaper when I have a the time. I heard you get smarter reading the newspaper. :) But I rarely have time to. Yeah I called myself stupid.

I read the paper a couple of times a week, but my favorite days to read are Sundays because of the sales and coupons and Thursdays because of the births, marriages, divorces and police reports..

I prefer reading the printed paper, but ever since they switched to soy ink, I get itchy just touching it.

I like to read the NY Metro (free) paper while eating my morning cereal. I like it better than AM New York. Rarely I will spring a quarter for NY Post (which is about as close to a tabloid as you can get) if I'm taking a bus or a railway train someplace. More than read the paper I listen to NPR. I actually listen to is enough that when fund drive time comes around I give them $100.00 and get a cheap gift.

I grew up reading the local paper front to back. Nothing more relaxing than a Sunday afternoon sprawled out on the floor reading the paper.
When I got older and moved away, I read it online. I lived there 25+ years so I still know alot of people there. (my family says that I know more that is going on there than they do) So I read it online every single day.

So this past week I am there visiting with my parents and I go to read the paper (they still get it) and I hate it. I only read it (the actual physical paper)a couple days while I was there, the other days I read it online!

Joyce I am just like you - vital statistics (what my paper calls them - divorces, marriage license, land contracts) is on Monday - engagement pics & births are on Sunday! I also enjoy reading the arrests a couple times a week! And let's not forget obits! :bigok:
