I started a thread for all those who are sitting at home on Friday night drinking and chatting on spoofee.(Where you at clubby??).

bought some svedka vodka at bevmo. mixing it with crystal light... keep them calories low ;)
i like vodka but i'm no connoisseur...
i AM celebrating though... i just finished my first class toward my teaching credential-- YAY ME!
 
What grade you planning on teaching??
 
elementary school probably.. although i'll be able to teach up through 8th... and i'm thinking 5th or 6th- they're at such an obnoxious age, but i really want to catch them before they're teenagers.
i taught jr high p.e. back in 97-- that class should NOT be co-ed!!
i definitely want to help coach cross country and track though..
i'm also going to start an after school running program, similar to "students run L.A."
i have big dreams lol
 
There is nothing wrong with big dreams, congrat btw. I would love to own a ski boat that I could also go fishing in one day. I love to wakeboard and fish if you didn't know.

isn't the water cold in NC? you should come surf in san diego!
 
Actually most summers here stay around 100 degrees with the heat index. I don't surf, wakeboarding is similar though but the board is about the size of a skateboard and you are pulled by a boat.
 
i've never gone wakeboarding... i've done the innertube thing but that hurt my butt!!
 
I haven't tried that, although when learning to wakeboard I think I have hurt every part of my body. I'm still not very good either:( .
 
no jumps or anything crazy yet? surfing is a major workout- but it's fun (i've drank a LOT of saltwater trying to do it!)
 
My buddy calls surfing "looking for waveys" we have alot of brackish water here, that's a mix of salt water and fresh water. It still tastes awful!
 
ew. i can imagine... plus all the peepee in the water (which i can't help but think of when i'm out in it!!!)

i miss living in socal... that's another thing.. when i get my credential, i told hubby he'll have to start looking for work in the san diego area ...
but i checked out housing down there... OMG a 2/2 townhouse is like 500K+!!!
 
Ouch, I couldn't imagine. I live in a town that isn't very big. There is alot to do but there is alot of country around here. You can take rural road and get almost anywhere. The nicest 2 br places around here top out at about 700 - 800 bucks a month.
 
well our 4/2.5 home is worth about 400, but it's a single family home... i can't imagine a townhome connected to other homes, 1/2 the size of this one, with no backyard for over 500k-- that's insane!
i'd be teaching just to pay the difference in mortgage payments between here and socal
of course, we could live inland, but what's the point?

what do you do, jmb?
