Ok so far my Easter isn't too bad.My husband came home early from work. And my sister in law(future)came over for dinner.However...I got bitten by something. It is itchy and very sore.I have a welt that is 1 inch wide and 2 and 1/2 inches long. But inside it there is another small bump...it is hard to describe. It is on the inside of my elbow down to my forearm..and my whole arm where the bite is,is now a very dark pink.
So I hope everyone else had a better Easter.

Ouch!! Hope it's nothing serious...I hope your day gets better!

That almost sounds like a spider bite! I got one last summer and took over 2 weeks to go away. Maybe some benadryl cream and ice would help?

I hope you feel better!

Ouuuuuuuuuu wow! That sounds plum nasty! Yeppers a spider bite, possible brown recluse which you guys have down in Florida. Bathe the area, apply ice for twenty minutes on, then twenty minutes off to take down the swelling. Apply a 1% cortisone ointment for itching to the area. If you are NOT ALLERGIC to any antihistamine such as benedryl, corricidin, etc take as directed for a couple of days. IF IF IF IF you notice any tightness in your chest, becoming lightheaded, or pus formation, head right on over to your doctor's office. Brown Recluse bites almost always form pus pockets, and, often have to be drained, and, debrided. Antibiotics for a week are then given.

If it is not a spider bite, possibly a "stinging insect" of some kind and given your scorpion in the garage story, anything is possible in your neck of the woods. Same precautions listed above apply...give it three days, if no improvement head into the doctor's office.

I sure hope you feel better soon!

Thanks guys....but I have been inside all day. This morning I put on a sweater and felt something as soon as I put my arm through the sleeve. In the middle of the welt, there is a small bite and it looks like a small pimple, but it hurts. The itching is gone, but the welt hurts like crazy.:verysad:

Yeppers, sounds like a spider bite to me!:( I have been biten four times by the brown recluse, and, the first time was in my recliner. I was just sitting there sewing, and got hot and dizzy. Thought my blood pressure was off! Then found a painful welt that developed pus and had to go on into the office for drainage and antibiotics! A good friend of mine finished up at the hospital went home to bed, and woke with a swollen nose and a bite! It actually turned black and she had to have plastic surgery to repair the damage! The culprit again, a brown recluse spider. Sucks! Yes they are very painful! Get into the doctor's office soon and get it looked at....pain always means trouble! :worry:

The welt has gone away and now all I have left is a small bump with what looks like a zit with a white head in it.My husband was in the Marines and got bitten by a Brown Recluse spider and it left a half inch infected bite. But he says it doesn't look like a spider bite...he says"a spider bite would leave two fang marks."Yes I realize this.So I don't know what it is..
I cannot go to the doctor because my insurance from Disney doesn't start until June 1st...no extra cash.

Ohhh I hope whatever it is goes away....w/o any residual side affects. ...unless that's contagious...then this would be more appriopriate...:peep: :yo: ...lol.

If it has been itchy and now looks like a zit - you have probably been bit by a fire ant. They hurt and itch like crazy and then when it gets closer to being healed it looks like a zit.

I experienced my first bite not long after we moved here and it was just a little smaller than than a dime. It really hurt at first and then it itched. Then a few days later I was putting on my shoes (the bite was on the top of my foot between my last two toes) and it hurt. I looked at it and it looked like the biggest zit I had ever seen in my life.

So if this describes it - that is what it is. If it itches put stick deodarant on it to help ease the itchiness. You can "pop" it but only if it is ready. Popping it will release the "poison" but if it is not ready to be popped it will hurt really bad when you try to squeeze it.

Welcome to Florida! ;)

Oh great!!!Not only do I have one bump that loks like a zit,but now I have another one.

They usually bite in groups - my hubby gets bit all the time and he will have between 10 - 15 bites on each of his feet/ankles.

Sometimes they are on you and you dont even know until after all of them have bit you!

hang in there

I agree with K-Ma, sounds like a fire ant bite. Not much really works miracles on them but putting rubbing alcohol, peroxide or bleach on them when they first bite helps sometimes or even just cold water if that is all you have, also neo sporin or aloe for the sore they leave after.
Yup welcome to FL

Oh and FYI the sores take a long time to go away

Rubbing alcohol works good, never tried bleach on it......Kalina try stick deodarant too - it helps that first stage of "crazy itching!"

My very first bite that I was talking about left a small scar! Vicious ants!

I heard fisherman use bleach on all thier cuts, scrapes etc.
Kinda makes sense it would kill all the bacteria
:convinced:

We'll try it!

My brother thinks he got bit by a spider. Here's the pics of his arm.
