has anyone ever endured the 90 minute presentation at a Timeshare Firm just to get a "free" vacation or cruise? (minus the taxes and/or port fees and/or airfare)

My g/f and i are contemplating attending one of these in order to get a free all-inclusive cruise for two (minus port fees and the cost of getting to Houston).

I've heard most of these places are scams...just curious if anyone's had a positive experience.

There were posts about this made somewhere. Lemme do a quick search..

Huh. I cant seem to find it. Well, hopefully that OP will stumble in and not be too drunk to answer.

Your avatar looks like I feel. I am humbled by your searching. What were your keywords?

Yeah, I used timeshare as the keyword and I tested the link after I posted and it worked.. Not sure why it doesn't now.

There's 4 or 5 different threads about timeshares.

I tried time share and time-share in and out of quotes, with and without +s. Dont know why I didnt try it as one word.

There is always a catch. If they don't get you on what dates you can use it, they get you on something else.

Not true. I have endured a 90 minute talk before. After that, when the agent was about to give his sale pitch, I said, I wasn't going to buy it and I'm there for a free trip only. No problem, I got a free trip during a Thanksgiving holiday, and it was great!

Yeah I know a lot of people who do these for free trips and have no problems with them. My parents did one in Orlando when I was young. I remember it took like half a day (rather than 90 minutes that they said it would take) but none-the-less we got the trip and the free gift (a crappy dust buster LOL).

My old neighbors said that they do those three or four times a year to different places and haven't had a problem either. Just make sure to checkup on the one you are trying to go thru. There are bigger companies that should have background.

Good luck.
