Who else is suffering from awful allergies right now? This is soooo crazy. I am taking prescription allergy medicine and my eyes and nose are just going berserk! AARRGH    Anyone else having issues right now? Maybe if you live in the North East?

I have allergies year round and I take Rhinocort. Have you tried any of the prescription nasal sprays? They make a huge difference!

I need a tissue, let me PM you my information. LOL

My allergies usually don't start until around mid to end of August. I normally take Alegra, it works preyty well.

I used to always miss the first couple of days of school cause my eyes would swell shut when I was younger.

i feel so fortunate. if i ever have problems, an advil cold and sinus clears me up within an hour. hubby has terrible allergies though. i feel for you!

I think that there must be something in the air right now. Tree pollen is very nasty to me. LOL Ah well, this too shall pass. ;)

I woke up two days ago with my throat burning and nose running. I couldn't figure it out until I went outside and saw the moutainside burning. I hope the forest service gets it out soon. They never did call us out on the fire.

My 2 sisters have asthma and both live in the Midwest. They are having alot of breathing problems probably due to the fact it has been incredibly hot!

I only get alergies in the Spring. It's some stupid tree that grows in the city. Smells bad and irritates my eyes and sinuses. I just buy different off the shelf remedies until I find one that works (I always forget what I used last year). If something happens in June, July or August I call it "a summer cold" and blame it on my air conditioner.

is it that kind of tree with the white flowers? i don't know what it is, but i hate that dumb thing- i'm not allergic, but it attracts bees, smells RANK, and doesn't even look THAT pretty.

I think the tree you are talking about is a Blossoming Pear tree. Yeah they stink (real bad) in the spring but after that they look real great. I have one in the front of the house.

I believe they had this tree (many of them) on the block of the church and school in our old neighborhood. It was so gross, they made the whole block smell of vomit. I don't care how pretty they can be.......it's not worth the stench. IMHO

Do they get pears? The description of the flowering part and smell is right but I've never seen fruit.

When these trees start budding I always know that spring is on the way and I'll soon be upside down (my nose will run and my feet will smell :o ).

I also know when the fall is approaching when I see lots of fuel oil trucks doing their business (filling tanks with heating oil) in the morning.

Nope this tree never bears fruit. My tree only really started stinking (real bad) this year. I couldn't figure out what smell was.

My mother who has bad allergies buys honey locally. She eats some every day (on toast) and it helps her allergies alot. It makes sense - bees feed off the pollen which is in the honey. When you take allergy shots you are being injected with what you are allergic to, to build up an immunity. By eating the honey you are taking in the pollen you are allergic to as well. You never know.............
