This has been floating around for awhile, you can also get Microsoft Money free ($30 rebate?), but double check the rebate date for that.

How does this work when both of the McAfee and the Norton rebates require the original UPC off the box? :hmm:

Wrong Again; Can't duplicate UPC's

You people need to read the rebate forms. You can't double up on the rebates as both Norton and McAfee rebates require ORGINAL UPC's, no exception.

wasn't that fun?

Well, I went through all that stuff, printing rebate forms, etc., etc.

Then I saw the ~$15 in sales tax. I had forgotten about that. Of course, the only program I wanted in all this was Turbo Tax, and by the time tax time comes around it'll be discounted to $20 and TaxAct and TaxCut will probably be only $10. So, I stopped and put it all aside.

LOL

Rebate DOES work - great deal!

Actually, this set of rebates DOES work. What you're forgetting is that each item has TWO proof-of-purchases - a UPC and a "proof-of-purchase". The rebates are apparently carefully planned to ask for the UPC, the proof-of-purchase, or a photocopy of one of the above. All of the OD rebates mentioned can be used since there were NO overlapping requirements.

In addition, I *also* found a OD rebate for a free ream of paper, and a free $10 OD gift card to use with the above. So all combined, I'm paying about $3 for this stack of software that I would have needed eventually anyhow.

Thanks for the deal!

How to get the $30 rebate in the first step?

When I click on the link in step #1 I don't see an option to "Continue shopping" or a $30 coupon anywhere... Is there a coupon number that I can enter in my shopping cart to get the $30 off?

This deal is a few weeks old, the coupon offer has probably expired by now. There are coupon codes for office depot available in the Coupon section They usually exclude "technology" items (and i think software would be considered as such).

Also, I would double check the prices on those rebates - some of them may have expired by now.

hth, penpen

$30 off $150 or more - OD coupon for this deal

Thanks Penpen! this coupon worked:

$30 off $150, expires 02/28/2005
Code: 47397357 Excludes storage.

All other rebates are still valid until 4/16/05 - so the above coupon is the one that expires first.

Can anyone confirm if they got all the rebates?

I'd appreciate if anyone can confirm if they got all the rebates to work by following the steps in this deal.

When I went to OD to pick up the software, they made a point in telling me that the Norton and McAfee upgrade/competitive rebates are only for previous owners of a previous version of the same software or a qualifying competitive software.

As a copy of the purchase receipt is required for the rebate, and they'll see both Norton and McAfee on the same receipt (therefore not a "previous owner"), will Norton/McAfee reject the rebate request?

TIA! :)
