Good deal. If I understood my MBs RAM slots better Id be all over this..

Two blue and two black RAM slots. Can I use them (all four) at the same time?

From what i understand LS, unfortunately you cant. its either the blue one or the black one, one being SDRAM and the other one being DDR RAM.

I was actually curious so I pulled off an sdram stick from an old emachines and mixed it in with my ddr ram , but it only picked up the ddr stick.

*i cant remember if its called sdram... maybe its sram? i r too tired to google it.

You should be able to use all of those slots. The BLUE are the DDR which utilize the double data rate speed. I currently have 3 sticks in my machine... and it works well enough for me to view and post messages. =P

You have to choose between the SDRAM and DDR slots, and DDR is the faster of the two. You can't use both. You'll also need to know whether or not your mobo will accept pc3200. If its a newer board, you should have no problems. If its an older board, it may not go above pc2700.

I just received my memory yesterday and it works fine. The Radio Shack invoice is stinkin' three pages long and it has to be included in the rebates!! Still a great deal.

I didnt think I could.. I have a gig in there now, 2x512. So this would end up being only a 512 upgrade for me. :(

My motherboard has both 2 blue and 2 black DDR slots and I have all 4 slots filled with DDR memory. Your motherboard may be the same, and be able to use this memory. If the memory you have now, will fit in both the blue and the black slots, you should be able to use this memory to expand.

but as good spoofers that we are LS we sell the remaining stick in the forums here or eeebayyyy to make your 512mb upgrade that much better. =]

I have an Asus A7N8X Deluxe. It has 3 memory slots, ALL 184 Dimms. 2 of the slots are COLORED to signify where to put the 2 sticks of memory to utilize the DUAL channel memory support. If all your slots are DIMMS, you can put them in.

how do i know if my mobo can do take a pc3200 ?

i have a toshiba laptop and would like to upgrade the ram. How do I know whther this memory would be a fit?

Thanks,

You could look up your mobo online and see what if takes ram that runs at this speed.

Dual Channel...?

Do you know if I buy 2 of these will they work in my dual channel DDR slots?

It is also generally not a good Idea to mix different branded memory chips as well as different sized ones. Each memory module could potentially have different timings, this could potentially lead to memory errors, especially in windows....

Ie. I'd rather have 2x512mb of brand1 RAM, or 1x1024mb of brand 2 RAM, but not mix 1x512mb of brand1, 1x512 of brand2, and 1x1024 of brand3.

It is generally good advice to not mix as you suggest, but it does work sometimes. When I built my pc I put in 512 of fast Mushkin, with the plan to upgrade later when I had the funds. The funds didn't come, but the memory deals did. I added a different brand of 512 with slower timing, and it worked fine. I then got this 1gb of Ultra and put it in and it works fine. I believe the mobo just defaults to the lowest timing.

I don't know what Radio Shack's return policy is, but at this price may be worth trying if you have different types in your pc already.

great deal! try to get 2gigs and you will notice all the difference in battlefield 2 from 1 gig!

Does anyone know if this is 1 stick(1x1gb) or 2(2x512) sticks? It doesn't say on the website.
