Ultra Wizard Mid-Tower Case for Free Shipped After Rebate

BEWARE!

I got this case in June, sent in my rebate in June, STILL WAITING for the rebate! Ultra rebates are either extremely slow or they don't send it at all!
 
are these cases any good? i called them for the rebate since the link is down. they said they have tons of them,

usually if something is really good, they have very small quantities by now, so i'm just checking:convinced:
 
The case us so-so, the rebate is most likely no-go (onrebate.com) is totally useless.
 
They also have an Ultra V series 500 watt power supply for $40 with $40 rebate and free shipping.
 
I will wait for another onrebate :) not worth the risk for me
 
OnRebate.com TOTALLY SUCKS!!! They are the absolute worst. I called once a month several months in a row on a rebate that was WAY overdue. EVERY time they say "your rebate will be sent out within a week." What a joke. They're SO BAD!
 
I had no problem getting my back using Paypal from onrebate.
Never tried checks though.
 
OnRebates do work

Just do the PayPal (yeah the $2-$4 they deduct sucks) but you get paid within a week of mailing the UPC and documents. I've had 4 or 5 done with no problems in the past 2 months. Checks did take months at first but PayPal rocks.
 
Ultra received so many complaints about Onrebate they changed
rebate houses to Elgeson Enterprises at White Bear Lake, MN......and not
a minute too soon.

I bought one of these cases when Radio Shack had them on sale for $10 AR w/free shipping. It's reasonably well made, far from being an "aluminum can" as was mentioned by another poster. My only minor complaints are that the power button is on the wrong side (you have to fully open the door to get at it) & the motherboard tray isn't removeable. Other than that, it has a decent finish, side air duct, front USB & firewire, & a mounting location for a 120mm exhaust fan (not included) in the rear. The case has good airflow characteristics & with just the rear 120mm fan (& the PSU fans), my overclocked A64 3000+ idles at about 28-30C w/stock HSF.

I also bought the Ultra V-series 500W PSU for FAR w/free shipping. It's a good unit with decent specs but be aware that it conforms to "ATX Version 2.03 and ATX 12V Version 1.2 Specifications" rather than the latest spec which I believe is ATX 12V version 2.2. What this basically means is that it has a single +12v rail (w/28A) rather than two +12v rails (+12v1 & +12v2) which are normally about 18A each. So if you have or are building a hardrcore gaming system with a high end video card (or two cards in Crossfire or SLI), numerous HDDs, extra fans, etc, this PSU is probably not for you. But it should be more than sufficient for just about everyone else.

Hey, they're both FAR w/free shipping...how can you go wrong on either deal??

BTW, I had no prob getting the case rebate. I'm still waiting on the PSU rebate but I have received confirmation.
 
Wow it's great to see this deal again! I would buy it again if I needed another case or PS. I just last night (Saturdays mail) received my rebates back from from OnRebate.com for both this case and the powersupply. $40 bucks each, which I thought would be held up forever. I ordered these both back this summer and they have been great. My only advise is if you have the money to wait six months for a rebate this is a good deal, other wise don't whine when you don't get the rebate right away (you have been warned).
 
Just to comment on OnRebate.com I just received 2 rebates on 12/14. I mailed them on 11/17 I didnot choose express service. Two Ultra rebates from Tiger direct. Go figure ?
 
is there a limit on this for the rebate? i ordered 1, can i get another under this rebate?
 
Wow, I'm guessing all the posters who don't like OnRebate didn't select PayPal to receive their rebates and those that like it did use PayPal. I absolutely love OnRebate as I've selected PayPal every time. I've never selected and paid extra for the Rush fee to get paid in a week but I get so surprised when I get that PayPal email telling me I've received the rebate payment--usually in about 3 weeks after mailing it in. I bought this case last time Fry's offered it a couple months ago and received my PayPal payment a few weeks ago. OnRebate via PayPal is excellent and can't recommend it enough. I do a ton of rebates and always read the rebate details before purchasing and highly prefer OnRebate over any other rebate place as long as PayPal payment is offered. Never have to worry about the check getting lost in the mail. If I needed another case laying around I'd jump at this deal again, but I have several extras now.
 
I previously bought a Full size Ultra case from Frys a few weeks ago, and got the rebate in about 2-3 weeks. This case was extremely easy to set up. Based on this experience, I got the Mid sized case and power supply last week. We'll see how long it takes for these. (Normally, it would take 6-10 weeks)

Also note: This mid-sized case does NOT have a power supply, so you may want to get the 500 watt Ultra that is also at Frys for free after rebate.
