(Back Order) Unreal Tournament 2004 for $8.98 Shipped

Newegg.com has Unreal Tournament 2004 for $7.99 + Ship ($0.99). This game has a 5/5 review by 53 members on newegg.

Pricegrabber Price : $16 ~ $47 Shipped

Update : Item is now on Back Order.

Read Newegg's review policy. They admit to actively deleting bad reviews because they "can't verify that bad reviews are true"... As if they can verify the good reviews.

Basically, newegg's reviews aren't worth crap. They're just a marketing tool.

nice catch, wonder how many other websites use similar policies..

dang, I bought this a few weeks ago from a Spoofee rec. and the price was ~$12 shipped and I still have not played it yet... anyone want to buy that copy from me for $12?

Didn't think so, oh well, time to load it up and start playing.

I never give much importance to the user reviews exactly because of the reasons above.

But the game's gotten good reviews at game sites:

Keep in mind though that this game is about 1.5 years old... so $9 is a fair price... not really a steal. Half Life 2 for $19, however, was a steal. Thanks for that one too Spoofee!

I just saw this and Newegg says Backorder/Out of Stock? Does that mean it's impossible to get or I'd still get it in a few days at the same price?

It sure didn't last long. I've been checking the price every day and it was $9.99 + $2.99 shipping yesterday, then I check less than 24 hours and it's cheaper and all gone.

I had bought the Editor's Choice DVD ROM edition for $20 at a local store and hadn't opened it yet, so I was going to return that because saving $12 + tax to get it on 6 CD-ROMs is worth it because I could've upgraded it to the Editor's Choice edition.

Should I still try to order it from Newegg or just keep my $20 Editor's Choice edition (which will probably be $9.99 at Newegg the day after I remove the shrinkwrap)?

To anyone interested in this game, BUY IT! Well worth the money and I have yet to hear complaints about it. I LOVE this game, and am addicted to it. :D

My question is not whether the game is worth buying for $8.98... that's a no brainer. My question is if I order it from Newegg when it is backordered, do I have any chance of getting the game in the near future?

I bought 2 copies of this earlier today and at the time it wasn't back order. I wonder if I got the last 2 copies :) One is a gift, and one is for me. I'm playing the older "Unreal Tournament" and it's awesome - very good replayability. I'm hoping that UT2004 is the same way. Thanks for the post!!!

Hey all, ut2004 was definitely worth it's price of $40 when it first came out. Plus there are so many awesome mods available.

Like Alien Swarm (top-down Alien-type mod).

Can anyone tell me how Newegg deals with backordered items?

I looked at their FAQ and it says that you are NOT allowed to order backordered items but must use the Auto Notify email feature and then order it when it's in stock.

So, the item didn't have Auto Notify available and let me order it in the backordered state. Do I have any chance of getting it or is this a dead order?

Their site says don't call us about orders or contact us with questions about products, etc., so it sounds like they wouldn't want to answer that question. Obviously I can wait a couple weeks and see what happens, but I was hoping someone here would be kind enough to tell me if I will likely get this in a couple weeks.

I saw that GoGamer.com has UT2004 DVD for $10, not sure about shipping though...
