Upcoming State Sales Tax Holidays

Thanks, groove1..I always shop for my kids during tax free weekend for all of their back to school things!! :bigok:

I never even heard of this! What a great concept!

Joyce, where are you in SC? I just moved to Fort Mill, which is right next to Charlotte, where I lved for 6 years.

The tax free deal is only 8% off, but it's more $ for me instead of the govt :)

Yeah, they do it to ease the back to school shopping. Good time to buy a computer if needed (peripheals generally aren't included unless they are part of the package when buying a computer).

Cool. My gf lived in Rock Hill before we just moved to Fort Mill, so I kinda feel like I already lived there. We occasionally come to Columbia for the zoo and to see the Charlotte Checkers beat the Columbia Inferno.

No Illinois, but an interesting concept I never heard of. Good idea!

Isn't the zoo here wonderful??..I love Riverbanks Zoo. :)

It's nice. I love the one in Asheboro, NC too but you cannot get as close to the animals due to its size.

Bumping this as I think GA starts today. Most malls and stores are open late this weekend and offering additional sales to get your business.

I can't believe they don't have one for California

Starts in TN on the 3rd..only problem is that the things that were on sale for say 20 cents usually are not on sale anymore, you pay full price (for example now it is $1.48). I would rather pay tax on the 20 cents than pay full price and no tax...

Of course it is a winner for stuff that is still on sale or was never on sale to begin with...

Have fun shopping.

J

Most places around here offer sales in addition to the tax free because they know people are going to be out shopping and want you to spend their $ at their establishment. The first year or two in NC it was pretty much just the tax free.

Figures California doesn't have a tax-free day...
