Thought I'd repost this clean, as the original post was cluttered. Thanks to Steve248.

The laptop is the Compaq Evo N1015V (1.53GHz Athlon XP, 256MB, 20GB, DVD-ROM, Windows XP, 14.1''TFT), best price on Pricegrabber is $968.

If you qualify, Universal Bank Visa Platinum is a variable rate, prime +6.74%, currently 10.99%. Initial transfer must be $5,000, and you must maintain a $3,000 balance for 12 months. That equates to at least $330 in interest expense. Not a bad price to pay for a notebook, but it depends on how you feel about another credit card.

There is an online application, but it requires an invitation code, so you must apply over the phone unless you received a flyer in the mail. Call 1-888-826-5022 between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. EST, Monday – Friday. Just mention the Evo offer when you call.

DEAL is dead!!

now the deal is, make a $5000 balance transfer and maintain it for a year with the same variable apr rate.
also it was $500 fee if the balance falls below $3000.
now it is $800 if balance falls below $5000.


still a good deal for loans with higher rates!!
