Is there anyway to track what freebies I've filled out from the threads? Like a marker I can put next to threads I've used? TIA.

This is one of the reason I like to post a thank you to the OP after I send for a freebie. This way I can go back and see if I sent for it or not. :)

If you scroll to the bottom of this forum, you can see the icons for where you post in a thread. It shows an arrow pointing into the envelope.

Didn't I just see in the rules that you are not supposed to fill up a thread with thank you's for freebies any more, but give rep points instead?

I always make sure to post a thank you in a thread so I can keep track of what I have sent for also...but the updated Forum Rules kinda seems to discourage that. Without posting thank yous for every freebie is there a way to keep track?

Oh I guess I should read the updated Forum Rules! :o LOL

I actually make my own spreadsheet. That way I can see what/when I sent for something and highlight it when I get it. I can also see all the freebies i sent for in one place.

I read that also but I like to post a Thank You :teeth:

You can't give but so many rep points, so if you fill out more offers in a day than you can give rep points, there is no thank you, how can rules like that be in place if the rep system is the way it is? Any help mods?

I always thought that saying thanks to a poster kept the good deals where others can see them and not have them buried. :noidea:

I thought the same, and not to mention, it's just plain good manners! AND the thanks is one thing that differentiates this site from many, I have gone to some freebie sites and bypassed them all together because instead of people saying thanks, I only see them griping and moaning, I would much rather see people joking around, having fun and saying thanks, it's so much more inviting!

Refrain from posting meaningless threads, one word (or short) nonsense posts. Multiple or repeated posting in order to increase your post count is not allowed

Instead of posting several Thank You's to posts, click on the Smile on the users post and give them a Rep point for a post well done. This will give the user a nice boost and it will keep the threads clean so the OP can see if a question is asked.

I'm so glad someone else is have the same dilema! I alway posted a "Thank You" so I know I've read and reponded to the thread. If we use the rep icon 1) We can no longer tell and have to go by memory (sorry but I do not have time for a spreadsheet for Free-bees!) 2) As Ultimate pointed out we only get so many anyway 3) People like Joyce will be bogged down with rep Thank You's-there are sometimes hundred's for a single freebee post

plus as Joyce said it keeps the good Freebee's active. I generally head to "live posts" first thing to see what's hot.

On the other hand, many old posts keeping getting bumped when 50 people post they've received the freebee, or that it's now dead. It's nice to know, but reallly one or two would be sufficiant. Valid, new posts end up getting pushed back when this happens. And I'm sure less "short" posts would be easier for the mod's to find genuine posts needing a response.

Just my opinion and I wish I could add a reasonable solution to it! I feel guilty ignoring the rule and posting my "thank you" anyway as I've seen a lot do who probably didn't read the updated version.

I got nothing. :noidea:

I like saying thank you too...especially for a good deal, I think it's nicer to thank the poster publicly rather than just in private. But I don't want to be given a warning for breaking the rules either! Mods?!

Hmm... I didn't even see the new rule until you pointed it out. I have therefore asked for the other mods input. Personally, I only find the 'I got this item' today posts annoying since many times the freebie has expired. Other than that, I do like the 'Thank You' notes since they are more 'tangible' than a rep point.

my :money:

I think the thank yous keep the freebie at the top... and I did post some I got this todays because well thats what everyone else does.. :noidea: but I do think it causes confusion with older posts... that say expired on it... but people still try to get it and wonder why it doesnt work.... :ohwell: :stupid:
SO maybe you can start a thread in the off topic to list the things we gotten or something like that so its on one thread and not bringing up old threads and confusing new people into thinking that they are still valid.... :teeth: Because its good to know that these freebies are coming and people are getting them.... :)

Sorry... I am an "I got this!" offender... :o:doh:

Maybe we could have a "mail call" type thread? And sticky it up under the walmart thread? I do like knowing when and what items people get... it helps point out the gems from the duds.

I'm only stating it as an annoyance, not mandating that we have to change, but all ideas are welcome.

LOL I'm sorry but I like it when Spoofee's post that they received a freebie! I guess its because I am here most everyday anyway so I know what is new and what is old :teeth: Maybe we should have a Freebies Received section ??

I like knowing someone has received a freebie, when one is questionable I will wait and see if anyone gets it before I apply for it.
