Nana's Legacy Eggs
My grandmother was very artistic and creative. As a child, I would decorate eggs with her to celebrate Easter and Spring. Near the end of her life, she traveled to stay with my husband and I for a month. We shared long talks and special moments that Spring. It was during Easter time, so she offered to help me blow out eggs to decorate and keep as a legacy for her future grandchildren. We spent countless hours working on two dozen eggs with intricate designs using special ribbons and trims she had saved from years ago. White rick-rack from the dress she made for me to begin Kindergarten, a fabric rose from a funny hat she loved, purple velvet ribbon pulled from a special dress she bought during a trip to Paris... Each one a glimpse into our wonderful Nana Millie for the generations to come! My children now enjoy these ornate and delicate works of art. We cherish them every Easter and I have such a special place in my heart for her love of beauty and art!
