wanted : canon s500

The printer or the camera? ;)
Canon, in their infinite wisdom, actually has 2 products with the same code.

Most likely the camera.

Why aren't you looking at the S410 as well?

ya the camera ...

whats the difference between the s500 and S410 .. i guess i will do a little research thx

from the side by side the main difference i notice is the size and quality of the movies

Movie Clips

well from that looks like im going with the s410 .. so where the deals on that :claps:

Yeah, the S410 is a 4MP model, the S500 is a 5MP model. The S410 generally gets better reviews anyway, and is generally about $75 less.

Never get a camera based solely on megapixels... you really have to compare the image quality. Check for the amount of noise at the same ISO setting, how well the camera does sharpening, ability to retain detail in both highlights and shadows, etc.
In this case, I think you'll find that they are both very similar.
4 mp is usually more than enough for snapshot purposes. The difference on a 4x6 will be negligible.

do those packages come with the box with all the basic accessories or is it like oem camera ? like battery charger etc.

Most, if not all, will come in the original Canon package with everything. I wouldn't trust refurbished on a camera. My girlfriend bought me mine for around $275 shipped from buydig.com, their service was very good.
