Hey Spoofee,
How's it going?

That's an awesome deal! Thanks for telling all of us =)

Unfortunately, the linksynery thing does not work for me, so can you please give me the coupon code so that I can still buy the hard drive? I REALLY would love to get this hard drive, since I've been on the lookout for one for several weeks now.

Just to make sure, this is an online-only deal right, so I cannot buy it in stores?

Thanks a lot!!!

Unfortunately the coupon link is down for some reason. Spoofee might be able to do something for it. The direct coupon link without LinkSynergy is http://www.officemax.com/special/q230?siteID=fW5jXtbL300-iIuXmDf8M83Ek7vUTfsQUw

Yes, the deal is only online because it uses online coupon codes.

Edit: Now it works for me. Good luck and thanks for joining Spoofee!

Just tried this and it appears to be out of stock.
Bummer

umm isn't this way OMAX always does? OOS right b4 the sale? I really hate them.

i dont see the hard drive on their list of items, is it not shown until the deal starts?

hahaha, just as expected from OM...it's taken off the online order...*sigh*

After considerable trouble I finally got a manager to take the $30 off $150 online coupon, but the manager said the in-store price was $159.99 instead of $149.99, so this hard drive will end up being $70.13 after tax and rebates. That makes it about comparable with the recent Maxtor 120GB deal at Best Buy.

I was told if I could bring in some proof of the $149.99 price they would give me the $10 back, but since it was removed from the web page and it was not listed in the weekly ad I was stuck with what the shelf tag said. Does anyone know where I can get some proof of the $149.99 price?

The rebate receipts also didn't print out at the register which is strange. In fact, the hard drive wouldn't scan in their system and they had to make a phone call and do some manual overriding. Does anyone know why Office Max likes to remove these items from their web page when they go on sale and mess the pricing up in their system?

I consulted some notes and see I bought this same HD from Office Max for about $50 after tax and rebates on April 27th so this is not a particularly great deal. I assume that each of these rebate offers is considered separate because they cover different time periods, so WD and Office Max will not say these latest rebates are invalid because I already bought the same item 3 months ago?

the weekly ad is not always the same for each state's OM. sometime, one state would have it, while others don't. currently the state of MA has tat deal, try printing it and get ur extra $10 off. btw shouldn't it be $60 even with the $10? how did u get $70? hmm, somehow i need to get my local store to accept tat coupon too then...i'll see my luck. btw did u just use the printout of the link? i think i might need to edit the coupon a little so it works....hehehe

you're not going to believe it!

I'm sure you guys aren't going to believe this, cause i'm a newbie, but i've been a long time reader, and just signed up... anyways. i went to the website, went to technology->perphials -> harddrives, and WOW the western120 was right there.. I BOUGHT IT. then bought the paperclips.. so it was 150.27 - 30 + 9.32 tax =129.59... should arrive on the 29th thanks spoofee!

i called up all the office max's in southern cal, and they won't take online coupons... i hate driving around..

The drive in my weekly ad was 159-10dollar instant rebate-50mfr mailin - 20 office max mail in = 79.99

your manager probably didn't see that 10 dollar instant rebate.

Fortunately my Office Max is only 1 mile away, so I went there again and spent 20 minutes total to get the $10 instant rebate nobody knew about by using a web page printout. The tag on the shelf said $159.99 with no mention of the rebates. So they refunded and re-wrang the whole sale, and this time it ended up about $129 after tax, so after the $70 mail-in rebates it will be $59. (The $9 is sales tax which I assume everyone has to pay at Office Max online in every state.)

It's strange how the 120 GB HD was on the web page last night, then it was gone this morning, and now it's back. At least the fact it was taken off the web site served as my excuse to use the coupon in-store, and now that it returned online I got proof of the $10 instant rebate, but was it all worth 2 trips and 40 minutes total? If it had been available online this morning I would've just ordered online.

What concerns me a little is the online page now says "1 year warranty" even though the item # is WD1200JBRTL which is what I bought in-store that says "3 year warranty". I just hope the rebates apply to all versions of the 120 GB HD and not just the 1 year warranty version, if such a drive exists. Both rebate forms say "WD 120GB 7200 RPM HD" without indication to a particular product code, so theoretically they all should work.

On my first sale no rebate receipt printed out at the register. When they re-rang the sale, I got 1 rebate receipt this time but still not 2 as it should've been.

Hey Yowza,
How's it going?

You said that the hard drive is back online? I still haven't seen it all day long.

the drive seems..

the drive seems to go offline and online, i think you just gotta catch it at the right time... i've seen it online twice today.. once when i bought it, and once right now... it's 7:51 PST.

here is a link, though, i doubt it's any use to you guys

wat is this...a game of hide and seek? this is sick man...hahaha lol

but sadly enuf, it's out of stock though...it's gonna be backordered...let's see my luck...^_^

It suddenly appeared yesterday. I ordered it. It is listed for delivery for tomorrow. I hope it goes through :D

Does anyone know the answer to the warranty question I asked earlier? That is, for those who can find the item on the web page, is the "1 year warranty" listed for this HD a typo or are there 1 year and 3 year warranty versions with different product codes?

Also, is it correct having bought the same drive 3 months ago at Office Max and having sent in the rebates has no effect on getting these rebates because the offers have different time periods and are therefore considered different offers?

I guess if no one knows for sure, I will have to call up the phone number on the rebate forms to make sure.
