Not such a good deal. I ordered a WD Green on Tuesday for $84.99 - $10.00 promo code =$74.99.
The black is $94.99. The performance diff is slight but the Green uses less power and is runs cooler.

I don't know where you got that idea. The Green drive was an impressive performer when tested by Tomshardware, one of the leading reviewers of PC hardware.
While the Black's Access Time is indeed faster, the difference is 2 ms. ~12ms and ~14ms respectively.

Considering that the green uses far less power, the small decrease in performance, that likely is not noticeable in real-life operation, is a welcome trade-off.
