I am trying to create a newsletter to printout off of my computer. I have tried to use microsoft works to design it but it won't allow me to overlap text onto a picture. Is there a way to fool around with the settings to allow me to do so or do i need to use a different program? What program would i have to use and is there a free download for it online (even if it's only a free trial version)?

Hmm.. if Microsoft Works.. works like word, you should be able to right click on the picture and be able to bring it behind all the text.

I tried this and it didn't work for me. I don't have microsoft word but i do have word pad. Too bad, i would have done it there instead. Thanks anyways Spoofee!!!

As for your suggestion Druvans, I think what i am seeing on the site is from a p2p sharing program. I just reciently got a brand new computer. It's all mine, only I use it. No hubby's stuff, all me. I really don't want to take the chance of spyware, adware and viruses. If you know of a more secure site with the download let me know i'll take a look there. But Thanks!!!!

:beer_yum: :beer_yum: :beer_yum: :beer_yum: Beer's For the Both of You!!! (Since you won't be able to afford it with the rising gas prices now. hehehe)

Open office is not a p2p software. It is a free software equivallent of Micorsoft Office.

Which is created and supported by IT big names like Sun,IBM,RedHat and so on.

Dont worry it is not a spyware, I can guarentee you that. I have been using it for years, as I like to use legal softwares as much as possible.

As for Virus - it may be a good idea to install AVG virus scanner free edition also

I'd go for OpenOffice as well. There is no spyware or adware from it. If you download, make sure you get Beta 2. This link should download the Beta right from Indiana Univeristy. Just click the 'Continue to Download' button to go from there.

It is an awesome program I recommend for my clients that don't have the money for Microsoft Office.

i still have a free 60 day tril thing that came on this new computer. I can just use that then??????? I didn't want to completely install it yet since it's just a trial but hey if it will work then i will. Let me know first! Thanks guys!

Well, that's what it means to be in trial mode, isn't it? You try it... You can always uninstall or reformat, if needed.

humm. what i meant by that was i might need it for something later that would be more important but i see where your coming from. I'll just try it out i guess. DUH!!!!

But wait there are different programs for the office trail version. Which would i actually use for what i want to do??
Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Office word?? There all 2003 versions too, plus there is a list of tool programs i could choose from too.

For a newsletter, I'd use Microsoft Word or Microsoft Publisher. The latter may not be on your computer for trial, but I believe that you can order it from Microsoft. If you don't want to buy the Microsoft stuff, you can use the OpenOffice Writer program to do the same thing and save your bucks for other Spoofee deals.
