So what do girls 'expect' after 4 years??? I am clueless.

My first gift to her:
1yr - tiffany ring
2yr - zales tear necklace
3yr - tiffany diamond heart

4yr???? i think getting her jewelery every year is getting old...

But i just dont know what to get her... any suggestions?

I assume this is for your wife? (As opposed to 4 years as a girlfriend)
How about a nice weekend trip somewhere, maybe a Bed and Breakfast? I know there are airfare deals for flyi and ted, you could get a nice weekend trip with airfare for under $500, even less if you choose a place you can drive to. Add roses to the B&B room for another $30 and you've got yourself a happy woman.

whoa, wife? no... not yet... lol im still young in my early 20's . Its for my girlfriend.

I have considered to take a vacation with her, but shes an architecture major in her 4th year. so shes super busy.

Also shes leaving for ROME in late january for 5 months.

In that case, I think for the 4th year they expect an engagement ring ;)

yes, commit to something you only have a 50/50 shot at succeeding in. :)

i think you can ask her if you're clueless.

How about a really nice watch? I think she would like that. Pick up a nice Bulova with some diamonds on it. You are looking at $250-$400.

Well... here's a true story about a young girl who dated a wonderful man for 4 years. Little did he know that the last month of the third year, July, was a deadline of sorts for the guy to propose to her. If he didn't, the relationship was going to be over. It wasn't that she didn't love him, but you can only stay on a plateau for so long.

She dressed up for every date that month- and there was some fun ones! Night Boat Cruise on Lake Michigan, Ferry Ride at Navy Pier, a day at Arlington Park- and not once did he take any of these romantic opportunities to propose. So, she sighed and agreed to go out with him one last time on July 27, 1995. Dressed up in her umbros and a t-shirt and going to see a second run movie at the cheap theater and trying to decide if she should dump him that night or give him the extra three days in July.

THIS is the night he decides to propose to me- I mean her...

Now... this story has a (mostly) happy ending. Yours may or may not...

If you're not ready for the ring... you may want to talk to her to see where she's at...

Oh... and by the way...

Fourth Anniversary- the Traditional Gift is Leather.

I got shoes :D.

Of course... those are meant for "marriage" anniversaries, but do with it what you'd like!

It's funny how marriage has traditionally been the :girl: woman wanting to get married and the :boy: man stalling. What if she doesn't want to get married yet? Maybe she has career goals and maybe she feels that she is too young. Doesn't a woman ever turn down a proposal? Or does she want to marry any schmo that offers himself to her. (Nothing on you carasage, just speaking in general.)
Just an interesting observation... :hmm:

have some balls and ask her already! tehe. my thoughts; :o

Lets put it this way...DO NOT BUY HERE A RING (even from Tiffany's) if it is not an engagement ring.

If you are not ready to propose do not buy her a ring of any kind...especially after 4 years.

But if you dont know after 4 years if she is the one...you will never know....

And this way you guys are committed to each other because she is going to Rome for 5 months and who know what those Rome guys are up to...

I'd get her a jumbo pack of gum, but I'm a hopeless romantic.

dear clueless

i'd say get her the next :present: thing that :spoofee: spoofee throws up on the board! that way you don't need to :hmm: think about it....! :p

wow.. amazing that the people here are so ready to get married... i'm a little surprised.. so, after four years, you guys would propose to your significant others? Just like that?
