So lately I've been craving for chili so I bought some from costco yesterday. Now, I dont' know what to make!

:verysad:

I bake a big pot of hamburger chili with onions and kidney beans (chili con carne) and serve it with corn bread. Oh, and if you like cottage cheese, take a big spoonful of that and put it on top of the chili...it is unbelieveable! mmmm great, now I'm craving chili.

Put a big fat hotdog under it!

What about chili and rice? :hmmmm2:

Any ideas for a vegetarian dinner? (Kinda sick of hot dogs :ohwell:)

Don't forget a lot of toilet paper (costco sells a nice Kirkland brand value pack)

Chili and rice is sooo good and one of our favorite meals once the cool weather hits. Another way I like to serve it is either over a baked potato with some shredded cheese or sometimes I make a nice pan of oven roasted potaotes and serve it over those. The chili and oven roasted potatoes are a HUGE hit when we have gang over watching the football game.

Chili sounds soo good right now!! Enjoy!!

Go Pats!!!

It's delicious on cooked spaghetti pasta with grated cheddar cheese...:druel:

Dang this is making me hungry.

When I was a kid, we always ate peanut butter sandwiches with a bowl of chili. It may sound weird, but the combination is great.

I also like to make a Texas Strawhat. Take a bowl of chili, crumble Fritos (or leave whole), then sprinkle shredded cheese on top (I like to use colby-jack or cheddar). Sometimes I add a dollop of sour cream before I sprinkle cheese and a couple dashes of hot sauce. But the Fritos really add a great flavor and texture!

So I guess I will make some chili this week.....even though it is still 85+ everyday. lol

Beer!!!!!!:beer_yum: Enough of that and you won't need anything else.

Chili over rice (or over cornbread) topped with shredded SHARP cheddar and diced red onion.
Cold beer or sweet iced tea to wash it down.

Lime sherbet for dessert.

Yum! Dan, you read my mind - but make mine lemon sherbert! :druel:

How about on top of a layer of tortilla chips (like a layered Mexican pizza) add cheese to the top of that?

Why don't you all just SHUT UP, and get into the kitchen already and start cooking instead of talking over it all!??!?!?! LOLLOL Then you can invite us ALL over, Jerry and I will bring the beer. At least we won't get carded!:p Gr8 can bring the paper, and, steal a port a potty along the way!! I love chiii any way, any how but gotta have corn bread, or corn something!:) One time I "thought" I took a container of BBQ out of the freezer and it was chili. Shoot, my goofy family tossed the chili on a hamburger roll and ate it with cheeses and sour cream for additional toppings. Then again, my family are like Hoover vacuum cleaners with teeth.:mmph: Time for a "Spoofee Chili Cook Off!" :)

My wife and I used to occasion the Chili Bordello in Largo Florida. They had "17 Varieties of Chili served in an atmosphere of sin!". It was actually tastefully and cutely done. We used to chat with the waitresses who seemed to be mostly single moms. It was actually family enough that we would being our toddler son with too.
Here's a forum thread about it;

I think some entrepreneurial person could take it up again and do well with it.

From the forum;
JoAnn's was not your usual theme Restaurant, it was EXCEPTIONAL! It was a play on a Bordello from the Turn of the 20th Century, New Orleans style. When you walked in the front door you stepped back in time to another era, and The Madame greeted customers at the door. They strove to provide a "naughty but nice" atmosphere, no bad language, nothing that could be considered lewd or obscene. It was an "Adult Disneyland!"

They outfitted the girls in lace corsets from Darling Lingerie which they wore over panties with garter belts and hose, but, of course, no see through ... well, not much see through!

"...At least we won't get carded"!:tongue:

Hey, was that a shot at the reason why I got fired?! :rofl:
Btw, that Chilli joint sounds awesome! I would haveLOVED to have worked there:tongue:.Too bad we couldn't see the pics, though! We used to have a great lil chain here in NH that was called the Road KIll Cafe - they had an chilli entree that was "Tree Rat Slop" !
