wheresmyrebate.com -- anyone else waiting for a rebate from them?

I sent in a rebate to www.wheresmyrebate.com for a BENCOLE / INLAND 9-1 CARD READER purchased at FRYS 3/19/2004. This rebate was supposed to be for $12.50 and arrive in "6 - 8 weeks".

The status of my rebate has been "accepted" for nearly 7 months, but I've yet to receive the rebate check. I've called wheremyrebate (1-800-390-2344) a few times. They keep telling me that the "funds haven't been made available by the manufacturer (Bencole)." Hmm.

Is anyone else in the same boat as I am?

Not anymore, but I did run into problems with them in the past. I had to persist with their customer service, but they were ok once I did contact them. I got my rebate approx. a week or so after "giving them a nudge". Be sure to mention that they have well exceeded the promised timeline and that this violates your rights as a consumer. That seemed to get the ball rolling for me. Good luck.

I did call a few times already, but perhaps I was not insistent enough. I'll give your suggestion a try...thanks!

ive had problems with them too. i had called multiple times for a tigerdirect
wireless router rebate and it took them over a year for them to fulfill.

they blamed part of it since the mail was rejected, but never bothered
calling the contact number which i had active for more than another 6 months.
after calling twice to confirm the new address, i had to call a third time -after
a month of confirmations that the check should be in the mail shortly.

simply put, avoid any rebates from wheresmyrebates.com
they definately work hard to live up to their name.

You are so right, they ARE living up to their name quite well indeed.

FYI: BENCOLE - INLAND PRODUCTS Rebate info

So, I called "wheresmyrebate" this morning. I was finally able to get a hold of a customer service rep who provided me with the URL to get some info about this Bencole rebate

Why they didn't give me this information months ago, I haven't a clue.

For anyone who might have a rebate pending with BENCOLE or INLAND PRODUCTS, this info might be of use to you.

Well, let's see how much longer it takes until the check arrives ...

"All rebates that have been submitted on/after May 14,2004:

Your check is being processed and mailed to you.

We apologize for the delay. The rebate company had encountered some problems within their system and all issues are now corrected.

Track the rebate by visiting http://wheresmyrebate.com/

-----------------------------------------------------------

If you have sent a rebate into Bencole and it was before May 14th, Bencole will be paying these. Lori Smith is acting as the liaison, between the customer and Bencole.

e-mail to: Lori L. Smith (Liaison) [email protected]

Please Include In The Email: Your Full Name, Your Mailing Address, Your Telephone Number, Amount of Rebate, Product Purchased, Where Purchased

The information will then be forwarded onto Bencole for payment.

Please allow 24 hours for a reply"

I had this problem a while back w/ a rebate. The rebate company denied the rebate and I was told to call the manufacture. After three calls the the company I finaly got a real preson and he sent me to another person. My check arrived a week later. :)

i did not get my rebate for a Dane-Electric 512MB SD card that i purchased. I guess i made a mistake as well....they needed the UPC code and i misunderstood and sent them the UPS Code...lol. So they denied the whole thing and now i don't even have the original packaging to re-send them the UPC Code from the original package. I just wish they were a bit flexible. Is there anything i can do to get them to pay ???

that sounds pretty harsh that they denied the whole thing! ouch. :(

sometimes, some rebate processing groups allow you to send in a copy of a upc (in case the original one got lost in the mail or something). do you have a copy of it available somewhere?

i once did the same thing with a rebate handled by the "express group" (like you, i didn't send in the upc). they sent me a postcard to tell me that i sent in the wrong sticker off the box. they also told me that i had a VERY little time to send in the UPC and that it would take MUCH LONGER to get my rebate check...but at least i was able to send it in and get a check (after 4 mos).

Unbelievable, my rebate check FINALLY arrived today! After contacting the Bencole rep (about 2 weeks ago), who then sent my message along to someone else in Bencole, my handwritten rebate check was sent to me...

:D

Handwritten, no way, haha.

Really! It even says "MAD money" on it, and it's signed by some guy named Alfred E. Neuman ?

just kidding. ;)

The way rebates work is the company pays the rebate company who then pays you.

That's why companies that need a quick cash input have large rebates. They need the money quickly. Hopefully that gets them back on their feet, if not then they don't have to pay the rebates.
