Please do not post spoilers

I just went to go watch this today and was impressed :)
As usual, they did a very good job and I don't think the trailer does justice.

IMDB Rating : 9.1
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1049413/

the rating is higher than Dark Knight, but we'll see if that upholds :)

Not yet.

I was having a down day.

I've been told that you HAVE to see it in 3D.

I've been waiting for this movie to come out for months but after watching the preview clips from ads over and over again, I'm not sure if I want to watch it because I'm afraid that the good parts are already played thru ads. I'm not in a hurry to watch Up, but hopefully, I'll watch it soon.

Do you have little kids Spoof?

I think there is a storm sequence and I'm wondering if my over sensitive children will be able to handle it. (My 5 year old freaks out at Curious George because the mean lady yells at him for painting in the bathroom.) Maybe Hubby and I will go see it for ourselves...

I saw it in 3D and also saw many of the trailers. I even saw the previews when they showed the movie and developers talked about the story at comic convention. Still good :). So if you are itchy for a fun movie go check it out. 3d is fun if you haven't seen a movie in 3d recently.

Nah. Take the kid.

But (just to be on the safe side) let us all know what show you're going to so we don't buy tickets for the same time.

We don't like it when 5 yr old kids start screaming thru a movie.

seen up what?

Long ago, in a Spoofieland far, far away, there lived a creature know as Livesquid, who had an avatar of Bill Cosby. He would work feverishly to post immediately after a fair maiden named Preco, for when he did so, Cosby appeared to be looking up Preco's skirt.

Ah, the memories.

I don't have kids, but I thought it's a perfectly good movie for any age. They may not appreciate it as much as grown ups though.

I found a perfect section for you on imdb

"While very nonviolent by movie standards, Up contains some more blood and mature content than any other Disney/Pixar movie that has been out in a while."

Might be safer to go watch the movie with parents only first.

I felt the same before I watched the movie.
As you said some movies have that problem where they show the best parts in the trailer and the whole movie is ruined because of it.

Up had other funny parts and even when the trailer parts came up, it still worked for me. Hope you have fun!

Blood? Really?

Like the cut in Mr. Fredrickson's finger in the trailers?

My husband and I took our daughter to see this today. It was really neat in
3D. I thought it was really cute movie.

I getting all misty-eyed here.

It was a very good movie... My wife really enjoyed it. :)

Up is really, really good. HOWEVER, in the first 15 minutes of the movie, as part of the development of the characters, there is something that earns it a PG rating. Is it violent or gross? No really, but it is pretty sad, and might be upsetting for some of the little kiddies. There are some other parts of the movie that might be upsetting for kids, so I can see why it got a PG rating. If your kid is uber-sensitive, I'd maybe not let 'em see it, but for most normal kids above about 7, they will be fine.

I did not see it in 3D, so I can't comment on the 3D part of it. I don't think that the 3D makes or breaks the movie. From what I hear, the 3d is well done and subtle and it's not stupid and in your face.

I would recommend it to anyone.

Loved it (2D version)

My wife, I and our two boys ages 7 and 9 just saw the 2D version. We all loved it. I don't think it's too sad or scary for younger kids. However, there are a number of poignant moments that made both of our adult cheeks wet. Fabulous movie.

Awesome movie! The preview was so bad that it almost made me not see it. But, luckily, the movie was nothing what I expected, so it was great. You MUST see it in 3D! It's unbelievable! And, no, the movie is not really for small kids.....5 stars!

I haven't seen this movie. I'm so far out of it, I haven't even heard of this movie. But everytime I read the thread title quickly........I think I'm being asked a much more personal question. :blushing:
