Does anyone have this device?
My DW has been asking for one for 2 years, on the pretense that it will be fun and she'll exercise with it.

My opinion is that it won't take up as much space as the eliptical trainer I bought 5 years ago.

What say you?

On the positive side, it does not take up that much space and you can use the balance board with other games.

IMHO if DW has been asking for it that long and it isn't that expensive, isn't it worth the $90 or so to 1) stop her nagging and 2) be able to say I told you so when she uses it for the first couple days or week and then it collects dust?

$90, yes
$350 for the console and all the 'Fit' controller thingies?
$350 will buy a lot of ear plugs

...getting to say, "I told you so"..:yesnod:..priceless...

Such a nice thing to have in your pocket....

No, the price of saying "I told you so" is an enhanced level of whining about all the reasons that it wasn't what it was supposed to be, and somehow that will become my fault.
I gave up saying that many years ago.

Hmm, selling on eBay for $240 used.
That means that my true risk is only $100 or so.

Thanks, BD, but that doesn't include the console.

You'll end up paying more for a package like that and IMO you're better off buying both separately. :noidea:

We have one and love it.

It's also the best way to have young kids play video games. My two (now three) year old loves the skiing games.

I went through a phase of having BPV (benign positional vertigo) and when I went to a therapist to have the "stones worked out", he spoke very highly of the Wii Fit. They order them in hospitals to help people go through therapy when they have surgeries or strokes.

My wife asked for one, and kept bringing it up. She wanted one to do Yoga on. I finally compiled enough Best Buy giftcards to buy one after the price of the Wii dropped to $199. I bought the whole package, and I swear she only used it the first day to "test" it out. After that, she has not even taken it out of the corner. I think she was disappointed with the Wii graphics. She was hoping to follow a true person, not a cartoon character on the screen.

I've played with it some, and it is fun. My XBOX 360 gets more use though. It at least plays DVDs and Netflix.

There's a market for them on eBay!

The most important question you can ask yourself Dan is this...do you have another idea for a Christmas present for your wife? I think it would make a great one...even if she doesn't use it as much as you would hope, it shows you were listening to her one of the numerous times she mentioned wanting one! That scores big points with women!!! :teeth:

That's an expensive message. I'm sure he has some cheaper ideas. He could get something expensive looking from Kays for less than $300.

:pound: expensive looking. :pound: Jewelry is nice also.

That's my favorite response so far! I've been asking for an ice cream maker for years...I've got a watch, a camera, and all kinds of nice "expensive" gifts...but I really still want an ice cream maker.

BTW...I don't think I got one this year either based on the shop dh did.

Step 1 - go buy the ice cream maker you want
step 2 - hand it to hubby, say "This is for my Christmas"
Step 3 - enjoy your ice cream maker
Step 4 - FORGET that you bought it yourself.
