I'm curious if anybody has those manuals that come with the XP retail version of windows?
Do i really need them?
Can i just save a few $$$ and purchase the OEM version?
Am i better off with the manuals-just in case?
If you have a set of the manuals and don't need them, can i have 'em?

Thanks
Gabriel

Personally, I never cracked open my XP (or most other) manuals, although I always keep them just in case. I can't imagine there being anything in the manual that isn't on Microsoft's XP website and support area. In addition, there are numerous other sites that help with XP issues.

Usually, the manuals are written for people with little or no experience. They don't really dive into troubleshooting issues.

WHo needs it when you can just push F1 when looking at the desktop?

Or, you could post a question in the off-topic area here on Spoofee. There are a lot of us self-proclaimed computer geeks that would love to answer your question(s).

anarkust, save your money and go for OEM. If you do have any issues

1. You can google search
2. There will be SOMEONE around you that is a Windows Guru. ( I think almost 90%+ of the world uses Windows? )
3. Feel free to post here if any questions and we can help you.
4. Stop by Barnes & Noble or Borders and look through their Windows resource books in their nice comfy chairs.

Thank you all for your input. Now i was wondering how XP home or pro compares to media center '05. I like the things that MC is supposed to do refering to DVR, DVD and music.

Thank you again
Gabriel
