Im sorry im not really sure where to put this and i cant find the thread that it was under..........

Winster.com was a game site where you earn points for prizes......
I was wondering if anyone on this board still plays it?

I cant seem to get it too load wanted to know if it was just me

As you have likely noticed, our web site has been down for the past day.

Starting around 4:30AM PDT Saturday morning 11/ 24, one or more disks failed on our database server. We immediately called in our engineering team from Thanksgiving holiday, and they began working on the problem.

Dell Computer support rushed in replacement equipment, but it did not arrive until about 3PM. After that, it took several hours to reconfigure the new disks, but this alone did not solve the problem. We began two activities in parallel . assembling a completely new replacement server, and restoring our database from the latest backup. This process takes many hours, and as of this time (8:00AM Sunday morning, 11/25) it is not yet complete. Assuming it is successful, we expect to be back up and running today.

With our server down, we are unable to send an email to our members, since their information is located on that computer. Once we have restored service, and our engineering team gets some rest, we will communicate with everyone and make appropriate amends with our members. If you are in personal contact with any of them, may I ask that you please pass along this information.

We realize that this is a significant inconvenience, as you have not been able to play since Friday night. Please be assured that we are doing everything we can to get our web site back up and running, and will take appropriate action to ensure that this does not happen again and that all of our cherished members are taken care of.

We hope you are otherwise having an excellent Thanksgiving, and we thank you for your continued patience and support,

I have not been able to login to Winster since it went down Thanksgiving night not Friday night. For the last 12 days I have sent numerous emails (got one reply with the same explaination as your post word for word but with a different name signed to it) and left many phone messages that all went unanswered. Finally got an email stating that I should upgrade my flash player to the latest version. Well that didnt work. So out went a dozen more emails and phone messages. Again all unanswered.
As I see it, Winster has lousy company practices!!! Im sure Im not the only person out there who feels this way.

Yes. The one I use is $9.99 a month - they have some that cost less. The $9.99 gives you 1000 spins a day - they're all basically slot games with different venue (cards, spell words, puzzle etc.). The Ipod Shuffle I won for my son in a couple of days over my first month was $78.99 on Amazon (no shipping costs added).

Many of the prizes on Winster are through Amazon. So, I've learned that you can use your credit as credit on Amazon for whatever you want (as long as it's a prize paid to you through Amazon).
 
Right, and each person who signs up using your link gets you 10,000 points. Not too shabby. I dont think Ive ever known someone who has a monthly subscription to gamble online. But I dont know many people with any real disposable income.

I didn't know that we weren't allowed to make referrals - sorry. Didn't know either that a referral got 10,000 points. Thanks for the heads up.

I've deleted my referral post.
